Happy 88th birthday to pioneering British primatologist and anthropologist Dr. Jane Goodall! A trailblazer in the study of chimpanzee behavior, Dr. Goodall is known worldwide for her animal welfare and conservation efforts, and the establishment of the Jane Goodall Institute.
She's been named Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire & UN Messenger of Peace. The @JaneGoodallInst, founded in 1977, is a non-profit working to increase global awareness and understanding of the natural world, and in particular the lives and habitats of #primates.

Text overlaid reads "I like to envision the whole world as a jigsaw puzzle...If you look at the whole picture, it is overwhelming and terrifying, but if you work on your little part of the jigsaw and know that people all over the world are working on their little bits, that's what will give you hope."
To this day, Goodall still travels to Gombe frequently and actively encourages the involvement of youth around the world in #conservation work, particularly through her "Roots and Shoots" program. @JaneGoodallUAE @JaneGoodallUK @JaneGoodallInst
