ALT Screenshot of a live Chat. A student asks "What experience do you have of attracting funding?" Caroline, a scientist, says: "This is a great question! Attracting funding is a big part of being a researcher in academia. You need to propose new projects and then hopefully get a grant to fund your research. I have experience in writing project proposals and grant applications, which can sometimes be quite frustrating. Especially if you don't get it." Kehinde says: "Sometimes they get funded, often they are rejected. A professor with a 1 in 3 success rate would be seen as doing well - mine is much lower!"
