120 years ago this week, Orville and Wilbur Wright made history at Kitty Hawk with the first powered, controlled airplane flight. Needless to say, the world changed forever with those first short – but paradigm changing – flights. I’ve been involved in aviation, aeronautics and space nearly my entire life – and I have to say, the Wright Flyer is still one of the most elegant and graceful planes to soar the skies.

Everyone you know is on that dot. This was the Cassini spacecraft’s view of Earth from 898 million miles (1.44 billion km) away as the probe looked beyond Saturn’s rings. Who’s someone you haven’t connected with in a while? Consider this your cosmic invitation to reach out (thanks for the reminder, @Surgeon_General). You were #MadeToConnect.

Hey @NatlParkService, did somebody say Fat Bear Week? 🐻 Here’s galaxy cluster El Gordo, or “the Fat One." Containing hundreds of galaxies that existed when the universe was 6.2 billion years old, it's the most massive cluster known to exist at that time! go.nasa.gov/3Q6bAKg

Record August temperatures confirmed summer 2023 was the hottest summer (June, July, August) in @nasa’s temperature record, by a large margin.🥵 These record-breaking months continue a long-term warming trend due to human activities. go.nasa.gov/3PhidYw

Some days you're the rocket. Some days you're the frog. #WednesdayThoughts Ten years ago today, our LADEE launch to the Moon from @NASA_Wallops leapt into internet history when a remote camera captured this image of liftoff, and an airborne frog. go.nasa.gov/3ErbGp0

Rail Trivia Tuesday: Long before it was the Science Museum of Virginia, 2500 West Broad Street was home to a robust Amtrak station. Completed in 1919, Broad Street Station served passengers of the RF&P Railway and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. Photo cred: @RTDNEWS
