Seriously?! If the erosion of democratic institutions is not an issue 'for most Indians', the future does not bode well for this country.
If you think it's ok if your vote ( or that of crores of fellow citizens) doesn't matter, if you're ok with having a judiciary and an electoral process that cannot be trusted to go against the govt, then I guess you're also ok with India turning into a fascist, one party state in the future.
And if you think that an authoritarian, one party govt can bring down inflation in today's global economy w/o causing long term social instability, market distortion, capital flight and stagnation, then hats off to you ! 🙄
Vote chori is not an issue for most Indians, not outside usual marxist-liberal circles. It annoys the swing voters.
With huge inflation on the horizon due to crude at $117/barrel, the entire opposition couldn't find something more unifying to rally around - like jobs, education, infra, cost of living?
