Changed my profile picture and dropped “the arrogant Shitzu from my screen name. He passed last Saturday after a short battle with IMHA. Healthy 8 year old one day and critically anemic the next. We fought for 6 days to save him but .. Heartbroken! My Shamus!

Somebody made a piece of art out of the note my young daughter wrote the day Lucy was taken. I think it's beautiful. #SaveLucy

@Herb_Minstrel and I met with the Commonwealth Attorney (I'll refer to her as the DA going forward) yesterday. Here's my write up of the good, the bad, and the ugly. I will strive for full honesty and will not spare any details, even if they reflect poorly on me. First, the good.
The Good: The DA is somebody that I support. She's the kind of DA that I wish we had more of in this country. If all the country would elect similar DAs, many of our societal ills would go away, I believe. Being on the opposite side of her on this issue is not something I cherish in any way.
She called this meeting with us, which was an unprecedented step. She's under a lot of pressure and I believe that pressure led to the meeting.
She loves dogs. She had her own senior dog, white like Lucy, with her at the meeting. That may have been a prop, but if so, it was a good one, and her love for that dog clearly is real. She said she wants to find a solution where Lucy gets to live out the rest of her days at home with her family. What a relief to hear that. She said she has no interest in prosecuting me. That was also a relief. She floated the idea of a deferred disposition (see below for more on that). She said she would ask to push up the next court date, currently set for June 12.
We parted amicably. I told her it was an honor to meet her and she said words to the same effect to me. We smiled kindly at each other. I think - I hope - that we each had a newfound understanding of the other. She saw that we are not the out-of-control hillbillies that my neighbors have painted me to be. I saw that she was not out to get me and my dog.

HISTORY LESSON ON YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD:
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn’t know this. It’s easy to check out, if you don’t believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what’s what and it doesn’t matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are FACTS.
Up until the 1980's, Social Security cards expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes.
Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message was removed.
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. His promises are in black, with updates in brackets.
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary [No longer voluntary],
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program [Now 7.65% on the first $90,000, and 15% on the first $90,000 if you’re self-employed],
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year [No longer tax deductible],
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program [Under Johnson the money was moved to the General Fund and spent], and
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income [Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed].
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put away’ — you may be interested in the following:
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the ‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
AND MY FAVORITE:
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That’s right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
Now, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, though. Some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn’t so — but it’s worth a try.

SNUGGLES IS HEADED TO THE COURT OF APPEALS.
Snuggles' family isn't backing down. Their legal team just filed the opening brief challenging the destruction order.
Now the other side has 40 days to respond.
That's 40 more days of Snuggles still here and still fighting, with his family in his corner the whole way.
If you've been following his story, don't look away now. The petition and the GoFundMe are in the reply below.

Her name was Iryna Zarutska. She survived war in Ukraine, only to be stabbed to death on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She came here seeking safety. She deserved to make it home.
The outrage over an immigrant’s life should never depend on whether her death fits somebody’s political narrative.
She was white...so she apparently didn't deserve a riot or a protest. She was the wrong color.
Remember her name. Demand justice. 💔

🚨 SICKENING - A 23-year-old Honduran National is charged with KIDNAPPING and repeatedly Sexually Assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Asbury Park NJ.
Monmouth County Prosecutors say Adolfo A. Cruz-Garcia, 23, met the 11-year-old girl on SnapChat on October 2. Even though he KNEW she was 11, he allegedly solicited NUDE photos of her and offered her money for sexual acts. SICK!
Hours later, Prosecutors say he drove to her Asbury Park home, threatened to send the photos to her Family and Friends if she didn't come outside, lured her into the back of his vehicle, and repeatedly Sexually Assaulted her before dropping her back off near her home.
He was arrested Tuesday in Haledon NJ and is charged with 1st-Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, 1st-Degree Kidnapping, 1st-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, 2nd-Degree Aggravated Sexual Extortion, 2nd-Degree Sexual Assault, and 3rd-Degree Endangering.
According to a DHS spokesperson statement, Cruz-Garcia is a Honduran national who illegally entered the U.S. near Hidalgo, Texas in March 2019 as a juvenile and was placed in Office of Refugee Resettlement custody.
ICE has filed a DETAINER to get him in custody.
Hope Mikie Sherrill and NJ Democrats don't LET HIM FREE!

11 years old New Jersey, these are our children! While @GovSherrillNJ @SenatorAndyKim and @CoryBooker are out protecting illegals and fighting for criminals at Delaney Hall, New Jersey children are who are paying the price!

🚨Honduran National Charged with Kidnapping and Sexual Assault in Asbury Park, New Jersey🚨
Adolfo A. Cruz-Garcia, residing in Haledon, Passaic County, NJ was arrested faces severe felony charges for first degree kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault, child endangerment, and sexual extortion of an 11yo girl he had lured from her home.
Cruz-Garcia is currently being held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing on October 26, 2026.
@ICEgov has logged a formal immigration detainer against Cruz-Garcia, identifying him as a Honduran national who entered the U.S. in 2019.
Due to Gov Sherrill's Sanctuary Laws in this state, New Jersey's Immigrant Trust Directive severely restricts local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities.
State criminal proceedings and any resulting prison sentences always take precedence over federal immigration enforcement.
If Cruz-Garcia is convicted, he will first serve his criminal sentence in a New Jersey state prison.
I would like him immediately deported. Now we get to fund his defense and detention.

🚨 NEW JERSEY: ICE has a DETAINER on the man charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Asbury Park.
Prosecutors say Adolfo Cruz-Garcia, 23, met her on social media, demanded photos, then showed up at her home and threatened to share them unless she came outside.
They say he lured her into the back of his car and assaulted her multiple times.
He's charged with kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault, and sexual extortion.
Now the only question is whether Governor Sherrill's New Jersey honors that ICE detainer, or lets him walk back out.
Hand him to ICE.

The House Judiciary Committee just issued subpoenas to New Jersey because congressional investigators uncovered a paper trail.
New Jersey officials knew about noncitizen voter registrations for two full years and stayed silent while publicly blaming a software glitch.
Internal tech vendor records from IDEMIA prove Trenton officials flagged the vulnerability back in 2024, yet approved the exact software specs that pumped noncitizen data into the active voter pipeline.
When federal oversight closed in, the political cover up turned ruthless:
On August 3, Congress demanded records from Secretary of State Dale Caldwell.
In Midaugust, Caldwell’s counsel agreed to cooperate with the federal probe.
Then days later, Gov. Sherrill’s office bypasses state channels to target Caldwell, forcing him out by September 4.
On August 21, Trenton quietly purges 5,100 names to deflect deadline pressure.
On September 15, The House Oversight Subcommittee convenes. The state blocks every single NJ official from testifying, leaving Assemblyman @MikeInganamort as the lone representative in the room.
While the state publicly admits to 6,600 files, federal agencies are flagging up to 35,000 potentially ineligible voters. Historical data from the 2018 automatic voter registration pipeline suggests the true baseline pool could exceed 233,000 names.
Because of this stonewalling, local taxpayers still do not know which specific local, county, or legislative races these invalid ballots may have flipped. You cannot approve broken software, push out cooperating officials, stonewall Congress, and expect them to walk away. The subpoenas have landed.
What town or legislative district in New Jersey do you think was hit hardest by these razor thin margins? Drop your local election theories below.
