I was watching a high school game with a coach from a P4 school. He was recruiting a great receiver. The QB threw a pick and the receiver didn’t even try to make a tackle. He jogged a few steps then stopped. The P4 coach said, “that’s all I need to see.” Don’t let a lack of effort get you taken off the board.

Mark shares Tyler’s story and the mission behind Hilinski’s Hope, reminding us why conversations about mental health are so important.
Every time we share Tyler’s story, we hope someone listening finds the courage to speak up, ask for help, or reach out to someone who may be struggling.
Keep talking. Keep listening. Keep showing up.
For Tyler. For the next 3. You matter to us and the people in your lives. Thank you @king5seattle for sharing Tyler’s story and the Hilinski Family journey. ❤️❤️❤️ link to the full episode is in our bio.

How do coaches determine playing time?
Pretty simple.
“Who is going to go out there and give us the best chance to win?” - Kirby Smart
That’s it.

Champions don’t defend a title.
They attack a standard.
"The standard is the standard.
It's not changing.
It's just a matter of our commitment to that and we have to grow into to becoming something bigger together than we could ever do individually."

CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS RECOVER & REFOCUS BETTER
AVERAGE TEAMS:
🗣️ Blame
😠 Pout
👉 Point fingers
🧳 Carry it into the next play
GREAT TEAMS:
🙋♂️ Own it
🛠️ Fix it
🎈 Release it
🤝 Respond together
Mistakes are inevitable.
Repeated mistakes are killers.

“Any great player wants to be coached hard.
Coaches take players to levels they can’t take themselves.
What great player doesn’t want to be coached hard?”
Being coachable means caring more about getting better than being right.

Adversity doesn’t beat teams.
Bad responses do.
You don’t need to play a perfect game.
You need a response.
Competition will expose you at some point.
What separates great teams is how quickly they recover, reconnect, and keep attacking.

I’ve never met a successful person who does not return their shopping cart after shopping.
NEVER!
If this is you, then realize this is as good as life gets unless you change the way you do little things like this.

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
- Galatians 6:9
Be encouraged today because God is faithful, and His promises are true.
Keep standing.
Keep hoping.
Keep believing
Keep doing good.
Keep declaring the promises of God over your life.
Keep choosing to be around people who choose you.

If losing doesn’t bother you, winning probably doesn’t mean enough to you.
The best competitors take responsibility because they care deeply about the result, the team, and the standard.
Caring deeply comes with a cost but so does becoming great.
