Blog: How Digital Financial Services Can Simplify Your Everyday Life
Digital financial services have changed the way we manage our money. Instead of waiting in line or rushing to a branch before it closes, you can take care of most everyday transactions whenever and wherever it works for you. And while convenience is a big part of it, digital tools also give you more control, a clearer picture of your money, and a little more peace of mind.

Blog: Collision vs. Comprehensive: What’s the Difference?
You know that sinking feeling when you hear a loud crunch while backing out of a parking spot? Or when you walk outside after a storm and find a tree branch sitting on top of your car?
These are two very different situations, and your auto insurance may handle them differently. That's where collision and comprehensive coverage come in. While both can help protect your car, they cover different types of damage.

We are committed to supporting small businesses with lending opportunities that help them expand their operations and contribute to the economic growth of the North Country and Vermont.
SeaComm hosted two free public presentations on fraud and identity theft at the Massena Community Center on October 7, led by former U.S. Secret Service Special Agent Sean Donlon. Drawing on 24 years of federal law enforcement experience, Donlon shared the warning signs of common scams along with practical ways that community members can protect their information, while members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation added local insight and helped answer attendees’ questions.
SeaComm Joins Credit Unions around the World in Celebration - A Message from President and Chief Executive Officer, Scott A. Wilson.
October 15th is International Credit Union Day. The theme this year is Cooperative Finance: A Steady Signal in a Noisy World. This one day affords us an opportunity to be thankful to our movement and a celebration of the unique differences and impacts SeaComm and other financial cooperatives have made and continues to make for our members and the communities in which we do business.
All credit unions share a common goal to offer access to affordable financial services to their members and provide even the most financially disadvantaged, the tools and the opportunities to be financially self-sufficient. Making life choices and dreams a reality is the credit union difference that makes a real impact in our world.
Exceptional member service and democratic control are just some of the many benefits of being a credit union or cooperative member. That’s as true at SeaComm as it is in other cooperatively-owned financial institutions from Brazil to Zimbabwe. Credit unions and other financial cooperatives are founded on community service, a principle that has set them apart for more than 164 years. At SeaComm, it all started with a toolbox (which is iconic for us today and can be seen in the lobbies of all our branches), $50 and a shared vision of then ten Chevrolet Foundry workers, who each wanted to improve the financial lives of not only themselves, but those they worked with. That vision is no less important today than it was back on June 6, 1963.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, management and our entire staff, we join more than 400 million members around the world in this celebration and look forward to carrying on this rich history of improving the financial lives of our members and continuing the journey that was started by those ten men of People Helping People attain their dreams.
Happy International Credit Union Day!

Schine and SeaComm Partner in Support for Next 10 Years
SeaComm has finalized an agreement to support the Massena Schine Theater for the next 10 years with a pledged gift of $250,000 to support programming and operations. In recognition of this gift, the theater will be known as the Massena Schine Theater: A SeaComm Community Arts Center through 2036.
This funding, separate from the capital campaign Unlock the Schine, has been designated to ensure that the Massena Schine Theater: A SeaComm Community Arts Center, is able to provide top-tier programming to the local community for the duration of the agreement. The Massena Arts and Theater Association Board of Directors will use the funding to support events and performances at the theater once construction is complete.
SeaComm President and CEO, Scott Wilson recently said, “We are proud to continue investing in Massena. Our partnership from day one on this project to include the refurbishing of the marquee is an extension of what our Credit Union has done for the past 63 years through its ongoing support of the community in which we solidly began our humble foundation. We couldn’t be more pleased to see the next phase of the project move forward and to have our name affiliated with it.”
“SeaComm in celebrating more than six decades of doing business, Massena is committed to ensuring that organizations such as the Massena Arts and Theater Association are able to fulfill its mission. The Schine Theater, which at one time was the centerpiece of our downtown, will once again play a vital role in providing quality film, creative performances and events within its historic walls,” Wilson added.
In addition to providing programmatic support for the coming years, and support for the marquee restoration, SeaComm, along with the Development Authority of the North Country and St. Lawrence County IDA, have worked together to provide construction loan funding for the project while grants are reimbursed.
“We are incredibly grateful to Scott, and the entire SeaComm family for their belief in this project. We are proud to have the SeaComm name on the marquee and for their support in making this project a reality,” Allison Smith, President of Massena Arts and Theater Association recently said.
The restoration project went out to bid and the board is still deciding on the contractor for the project. The capital campaign is still going and is looking for support to close the gap between the reimbursement grants, and the cost to renovate the theater. The board is hopeful that construction will be finished in the middle of 2027, pending fundraising efforts and construction schedules.
Massena Arts and Theater Association (MATA) is 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is leading the renovation of the Massena Schine Theater: A SeaComm Community Arts Center. Founded in 2013, the organization has purchased the old Massena Schine Theater and has completed two phases of renovation of the theater, including asbestos abatement and exterior facade restoration, including the re-lighting of the marquee in October of 2025. The organization is in the middle of a capital campaign called “Unlock the Schine.” The campaign is running to unlock the matching grants that will allow interior construction to be completed and open the theater to the public.
The Massena Schine Theater was built in 1918 and became a centerpiece in the bustling downtown area through the 1980s. MATA’s vision is for the theater to become a cultural hub in downtown and lead the revitalization of the downtown corridor. Once open, the theater will feature a variety of different events, from live music, to classic films, and community events. MATA is a community organization governed by a board of directors, and welcomes volunteers of all ages to help join in the mission of revitalizing downtown Massena through arts and entertainment.
