🎉 We're thrilled to see our work highlighted in @Nature following @katieanders99 presentation at the @ASTMH conference, showing the dramatic drop in #dengue rates in Colombia due to our Wolbachia-infected mosquitoes! 🦟🔬 👇Tweet Thread👇

Great paper by @SeanCavany et al in @PLOSCompBiol who develop a unified model linking statistical (GAM) and mechanistic (ABM) approaches through ODEs to infer mosquitos population abundance in space and time 🦟📈 doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi… 🗞️#313-2023

Our preprint is out! In this study, we established a mathematical framework to select sites for future clinical chikungunya vaccine trials. This framework is flexible for different trial designs and other emerging diseases as it only requires serological data.

It's logical to think that rises in #COVID19 cases in the US would precede rises in hospitalizations. After all, one has to get infected and typically become symptomatic before being hospitalized. But the data tell a slightly different story. 1/n

New preprint on SARS-CoV-2 reinfection trends in South Africa. We find no evidence of increased reinfection risk associated with circulation of Beta and Delta variants, suggesting limited or no immune escape #SACEMA @nicd_sa @hivepi doi.org/10.1101/2021.11.11.2… #notyetpeerreviewed
