First, Angie Nixon says she isn't a prison abolitionist because she wants to lock up her opponent. And now this. Amazing things are happening in political messaging.
YIKES: Troy Jackson supporter confirms he has a temper problem. “Has Troy lost his temper now and then? Sure.” “He doesn't lose his temper in a gendered way. He doesn’t lose his temper with women any more than he loses his temper with men.”

Respectfully, viral moments are actually the main qualification to lead Oversight.
SCOOP: Some House Freedom Caucus members have privately discussed kicking Rep. Brandon Gill out of the group "He's not really in the Freedom Caucus. He's just using it for conservative bonafides," one HFC member told @axios Gill's bid to chair Oversight is fueling resentment beyond HFC, with Republicans questioning whether viral hearing moments qualify him to lead the committee But Gill also has powerful defenders, including Whip Tom Emmer, who called him "the future of our party." axios.com/2026/10/22/texas-b…

Martin Kao is a convicted fraudster, and this bad-faith media campaign to sensationalize his lies as investigative journalism is despicable. No one should fall for ProPublica's op here.
Any allegations of quid-pro-quo behavior or wrongdoing by the late Senator Lindsey Graham or his staff are simply false. It’s embarrassing that ProPublica, a George Soros funded operation, is legitimizing the ravings of a convicted felon, Martin Kao, who clearly would have said anything to save himself. Adding insult to injury, ProPublica has chosen to publish this story when Senator Graham cannot defend himself because he tragically passed away in July. While it may not be convenient for ProPublica’s narrative or Martin Kao’s attempt to escape responsibility for his criminal activities, the federal funding in question was requested by the University of South Carolina and supported by the U.S. Navy. And finally, Senator Lindsey Graham’s office was never contacted by the FBI.

Add it to the investigation, right, @SeanJCooksey?
NYP: Super PAC Propping Up “Decoy Dan” Sullivan in Alaska A mysterious super PAC propping up retired teacher Dan J. Sullivan in Alaska’s closely watched Senate race is funded by progressive donors, new financial disclosures reveal Dan J. Sullivan, aka “Decoy Dan,” shares the same first and last name as incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan (R-AK) and is listed on the ballot as a Republican despite voting against Donald Trump in each of the past three presidential elections. nypost.com/2026/10/19/us-new…

Some enterprising Member needs to take up this cause. I bet you could pass it on suspension + UC.
University of Chicago Students to Protest at Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Demand End to Federal Ban on Onion Futures Student-led group For Our Futures will rally Monday morning to call for repeal of the 1958 Onion Futures Act On Monday, October 19, at 8:30 a.m., members of For Our Futures, a student-led organization from @UChicago, will gather outside the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (@CMEGroup) headquarters to demand the repeal of the Onion Futures Act of 1958, a nearly 70-year-old federal law prohibiting futures trading in onions. The Onion Futures Act, enacted following allegations of market manipulation in the 1950s, singled out onions for a prohibition on futures contracts that remains in effect today. For Our Futures is calling on Congress to repeal the ban and restore the ability of onion growers, buyers, and traders to participate in a regulated futures market. Onions remain the only commodity banned from futures trading in the United States. The protest will feature a giant inflatable onion costume, protest signs, and dozens of students, and will take place outside the headquarters of CME Group, one of the world's largest derivatives marketplaces and the historic center of American onion futures trading. .@AFergusonFTC: “The best way to defend against bad guys with SI is with American SI technology.”
🚨🚨 SI Force Vice Chair @AFergusonFTC on America's race with China: “There has not been a more important strategic, political, or economic imperative for this country since the end of the Cold War.” Ferguson says winning the race means unleashing American innovation, not imposing a “giant raft of new regulations.”

Lol this sucks.
DC is facing a jobs crisis. Rushing the legalization of autonomous vehicles is irresponsible given the anticipated AI-related job displacement and disruptions that put countless workers at risk.

One crazy-making aspect of this story is that the researchers conclude that many of these programs were understaffed even though funding swelled from $5m to $28m. Where was the money going?

Maybe one of the most incredible pieces of rhetorical art I've ever seen.
Angie Nixon: "They're spreading lies about me saying I want to abolish prisons... Why would I want to do that when I want [Ashley Moody] locked up and jailed." CNN: "You want your Republican opponent locked up?" Angie Nixon: "Yeah basically. I absolutely want that to happen."

Turns out @ycombinator is the YC for DC. That's one of my biggest takeaways from this great conversation with @Airbnb Cofounder @jgebbia. YC was transformational for Joe and Airbnb. Now he's bringing that same mindset (e.g. get close to users, question conventional wisdom, move quickly, build things people love) to Washington. The opportunity is bigger than better government websites. It's about redesigning the user experience of being a citizen. YC has changed technology, business, and culture. It's fascinating to see that impact extend into government, too.

My current chapter at DOJ has come to a close. It has been an honor serving under Attorney General Todd Blanche, former Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Acting Deputy Attorney General Trent McCotter. What this DOJ has accomplished in combatting violent crime and ending weaponization has been unprecedented. And there is still more to come. The fight continues. I look forward to continuing to serve President Trump and this Administration. 🇺🇸🫡

Katie Bailey is the best in the game. I've worked with her on many tough projects and she's always a steady hand on the wheel. Fantastic choice by the President.

Trump is unhappy that the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to former ICC  judge Navanethem "Navi" Pillay, a person he says he's never heard of.
