Clayface Is A Floor-Raiser, But DC Needs A Ceiling-Raiser | Reel Talk 🎞
What does Clayface mean for DC? In this clip from my Clayface 2026 final verdict and Clayface review, I break down why James Gunn's $40M horror film from DC Studios is a useful floor-raiser as a smaller genre film but not the ceiling-raiser the DCU needs. With Warner Bros Discovery's acquisition by Paramount Skydance now completed and DC operating inside a newly combined entertainment company as Skydance Corp, this Tom Rhys Harries-led Clayface movie has to compete for resources while Marvel has reclaimed the worldwide box office record with the Avengers Endgame Encore re-release at $2.9255B and has Spider-Man Brand New Day and Avengers Doomsday coming in December. This James Watkins and Mike Flanagan film has a strong central idea and creative effects, but does it give audiences a reason to care about its characters?

Clayface Can Become Anyone... Except Himself (Ending Explained) | Reel Talk 🎞️
The Clayface ending explained is genuinely tragic. In this Clayface 2026 ending breakdown from my full Clayface review, Matt Hagen becomes obsessed with Dr. Caitlyn Corr and murders her fiancé to wear his face, telling her he can be whoever she wants him to be. When Caitlyn activates the kill switch, Matt transforms into the hulking Clayface creature we recognize and begs her to end his suffering before dissolving into the sewers. But the final scene reveals Matt survived as a homeless man in disguise, and the version of Caitlyn with him is a fantasy he created himself because he can change his face but can't force someone to love him. Directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan for James Gunn's DCU, this Tom Rhys Harries ending is the real horror of this DC Studios Batman villain movie.

Clayface (2026) Proves Cool Effects Can't Fix Bad Writing | Reel Talk 🎞️
The Clayface movie only starts having fun at the midpoint of this Clayface 2026 review when Matt Hagen injects himself with too much of the treatment and finally gets to regenerate and impersonate other people. In this clip from my full Clayface review, I break down why the nightclub sequence with rapid transformations and creative kills is the highlight of director James Watkins and Mike Flanagan's DCU movie, including the grotesque moment Matt turns his own blood and tissue into a weapon against Markos Szabo. It's great body horror from Tom Rhys Harries and impressive effects from DC Studios, but with the final monster reveal saved so late in this James Gunn DCU Chapter One entry, is disturbing imagery enough to make a genuinely frightening horror film?

Clayface Has a Great Message... and a Story That Fails It | Reel Talk 🎞️
Does Clayface 2026 have something to say or is it just body horror for the sake of it? In this Clayface movie clip from my full Clayface review, I break down how director James Watkins and writer Mike Flanagan use Matt Hagen's physical transformation as a metaphor for emotional damage, where the more unstable Tom Rhys Harries becomes, the less he can maintain his human face. It's a sharp take on how Hollywood treats people as disposable products when they're attractive and successful, but the screenplay never fully develops its corrupt institutions and supporting characters in this DCU Chapter One Gods and Monsters entry from James Gunn's DCU.

Clayface (2026) Is NOT A Real Horror Movie | Reel Talk 🎞️
Is Clayface actually horror? DC's first R-rated horror movie from DC Studios is here, and my Clayface movie review of the new Clayface 2026 film is that this Batman villain movie feels more like a Hollywood tragedy than body horror. Directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan, this Tom Rhys Harries-led DCU Chapter One Gods and Monsters entry costs just $40M and leaves Batman at home, so is this DCU horror experiment better than Sony's Spider-Man spin-offs or just Darkman and The Fly without the style? Full review on the channel.

Is Clayface DC’s Most Tragic Villain Ever? | Reel Talk 🎞️
The best part of Clayface 2026 isn't the body horror. In this Clayface movie clip from my full Clayface review, we follow Matt Hagen played by Tom Rhys Harries, a rising actor in Coast City, Hal Jordan's hometown, who is up for an Oscar against fake films called One Bad Day and No Man's Land before Gotham gangster Markos Szabo brutally disfigures him. When Dr. Caitlyn Corr played by Naomi Ackie offers him experimental nanotech straight out of Batman The Animated Series Feat of Clay, his face becomes his addiction. Directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan for James Gunn's DCU, this Batman villain origin is less about DC Studios horror and more about an actor who says acting is easier than being himself.
