The Migration Card Is Morocco’s Biggest Strategic Mistake If Morocco is deliberately allowing waves of migrants to reach the Spanish border as a political pressure tactic, it is making a serious strategic mistake. It may produce short-term political leverage, but it sends all the wrong signals to Europe and ultimately damages Morocco’s own interests. There is simply no way that such large numbers reach the border without at least a significant relaxation of Moroccan border enforcement. Here are the consequences of this strategy: 1. It undermines Morocco’s own success story. If thousands of Moroccans and African migrants living in or transiting through Morocco immediately seize the first opportunity to enter Spain, it sends the message that they do not see Morocco as a country where they want to build their future. That contradicts the image Morocco presents to the world as a country of stability, growth, and opportunity. You cannot have it both ways. 2. It tells Europe that Morocco is not a reliable partner. Instead of resolving political disagreements through diplomacy, Morocco appears willing to use migration as leverage. The message becomes: Give us what we want, or we will stop guarding our side of the border. That is not how mature states negotiate. It resembles the strategy repeatedly used by Erdoğan with the European Union. 3. It creates a dangerous precedent. Once you normalize migration as a political weapon, you cannot complain if others use the same tactic against you. Imagine Algeria relaxing its own border controls and allowing thousands of migrants from sub-Saharan Africa to enter Morocco. Morocco would rightly condemn such behavior. The same principle applies here. 4. It encourages more illegal migration and human trafficking. If traffickers and migrants believe Morocco periodically opens the gates during political disputes, more people will travel to Morocco and wait for the next opportunity. That increases pressure on Morocco’s borders, strengthens smuggling networks, and creates an even bigger migration problem in the future. 5. It damages Morocco’s international image at the worst possible time. Morocco will co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal. This should be an opportunity to attract investment, tourism, and long-term international partnerships. Using illegal migration as political leverage sends exactly the opposite message. Investors want predictability. Tourists want stability. Governments want trustworthy partners. This strategy undermines all three. Morocco should rethink this approach. Migration should never be used as a political bargaining chip. Disagreements with Spain should be addressed through diplomacy, negotiation, and responsible statecraft, not by turning vulnerable migrants into instruments of political pressure. In the long run, this approach is not only ineffective; it is humiliating for Morocco and harmful to its own national interests.

“Why everyone suddenly hates Messi” is genuinely the most misguided take of all time. I’ve seen so many posts similar to this lately. Painting Argentina and Messi as the ‘victims’ of a big hate campaign. Pull up whatever irrelevant algorithmic data you want. Blame paid accounts. Quote psychological theory. At the end of the day… it’s pretty simple. Barcelona allegedly paid off referees for 2 decades, spanning Messi’s entire career… The Argentinian FA are being investigated for money laundering. We’ve all seen the blatant refereeing favouritism across two World Cups now. We all saw their violent, aggressive and petulant behaviour all tournament. We aren’t blind… Inter Miami, disproportionate to the rest of the MLS, hoarded old European talent and walk the league as soon as Messi arrives. Somehow qualifying for the Club World Cup without actually meeting any criteria for such qualification. This is a plastic club, with no history and purchased success… While you can’t blame all of this on Messi, obviously. He is clearly complicit. He clearly benefits from the purchased success of such institutions. He is clearly a money milking machine for FIFA and America. Something Infantino is well aware of… he ‘suffers’ with Messi after all. And people don’t like it. People don’t like blatantly manufactured success. People don’t like cheats. People don’t like teachers pets. People don’t like players that try and get other players (Cucurella) unfairly sent off in a World Cup final when they are clearly being outclassed on the pitch. People don’t like people that lack integrity. But nah. I guess we’re all swept up in mass hysteria! We’re all brain washed! And this is dangerous rhetoric! Shut up. The Messi bias is nauseating.

Notice how you sidestepped me pointing out that you could easily have the energy for air conditioning if you would build more nuclear power plants instead of tearing them down and building coal power plants or natural gas power plants.

Ia perdendo a casa.

Fui à ambulância, tinha as tensões a 17/10 e a médica deu-me um comprimido. Entrei no balneário, estive lá 40 segundos e saí logo. E celebrei. Celebrei e vou continuar a celebrar. Até quando morrer vou celebrar lá."

Study shows COVID vaccines decreased heart attacks and strokes. A sweeping analysis of nearly 46 million adult health records has delivered a clear verdict: COVID-19 vaccination sharply lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes, directly refuting persistent claims to the contrary. Published in Nature Communications, the study followed people across England from December 2020 through January 2022. It documented a 10% drop in serious arterial blood clots (including heart attacks and strokes) after the first dose alone. Protection strengthened further with subsequent doses: a 20% reduction among those fully vaccinated with Pfizer/BioNTech and a striking 27% reduction for AstraZeneca recipients. The researchers were upfront about rare side effects—myocarditis and certain clotting disorders—that can occur shortly after vaccination, but stressed these remain exceptionally uncommon. By comparison, catching COVID-19 itself dramatically raised the odds of major cardiovascular events. Lead co-author Dr. Samantha Ip described the results as some of the strongest evidence yet that the vaccines do more than prevent severe infection: they also confer lasting protection against two of the world’s leading killers. Ouch. 😭
