The safety net provided by NHS that's there for physical illness is not there for folks with #mentalhealth problems; it's like pre-NHS era.

Same. Unfortunately she seems to lack any awareness of mental illness or mental healthcare outside of her own personal experience, and refuses to accept that her experience isn't universal. I blocked her a while ago for my own sanity but she's still showing up on my feed 😒

This has been all over my feed today.
I think we need to collectively stop giving this woman oxygen. She's incredibly unpleasant & feeds off our upset and interactions.. coming out with more and more harmful crap the more attention she gets.
Block block block.

ALT Tweet from Jade Stanton (@jadethebpdcoach): "I have a piece of loving advice to the chronically suicidal people out there - stop telling everyone every day that you want to die. Don't try to get them to save you or care about you by sharing all your suffering on repeat. Doesn't work well. You'd be surprised how many people would love to support you and interact with you when it doesn't require them to constantly imagine your death."

The clocks go back tonight — a timely reminder to think about vitamin D.
From October to March our bodies can’t make enough vitamin D from sunlight. To keep bones and muscles healthy it’s best to take a daily 10 microgram supplement of vitamin D.

🧵 on suicidal ideation and talking about it publically.
There is so much stigma around suicidal ideation and it is a real taboo subject to talk about. But why is this the case? Why is there such a distinction between talking about physical symotoms to mental health symptoms?

Another 🧵on the 111 mental health access lines.
Since the 111 m/h access lines have come into force, there has been widespread condemnation by the mental health community: they are simply not fit for purpose.
Your initial port of call is with an access worker. They are offen

Very good overview of the Lampard Inquiry’s recent interim recommendations hearings on observations and the use of technology (particularly Oxevision- now LIO)
What does the evidence say about tech-based monitoring in mental health wards? Over the last year, the Lampard Inquiry has been scrutinising the evidence around the ethics, implementation, use, and harms caused by such a practice.
Following the conclusion of the Inquiry’s first set of hearings dedicated to potential interim recommendations, Associate Christina Ashibogu rounds up the critical evidence heard so far regarding the widespread use and potential misuse of the Oxevision technology at EPUT, highlighting urgent concerns around patient safety, consent models and clinical effectiveness.
Observations are a critical part of patient treatment, but they have to be done according to individual need and with patient safety and dignity at the forefront of care.
