Fourteen State Senators sent a joint letter yesterday to Governor @GavinNewsom urging him to promptly declare racism a public health crisis in California. We must urgently dismantle the systemic racism that perpetuates the health & other disparities faced by individuals of color!

As my Senate term will be ending tonight at midnight, I’d like to say that it has been a true honor to serve as your State Senator. #TeamLeyva has proudly served constituents across #SD20 and California—and we’ve passed historic legislation over the past eight years. Thank you!

As my senate term is coming to an end and closing down my Sacramento/district offices, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for this honor to serve Senate district 20 for eight golden years. Thank you and stay in touch. – at Chino, CA

On this #Thanksgiving, I would like to offer a deep and heartfelt thank you to #SD20 constituents for allowing me the opportunity to serve eight years as your State Senator. So from all of #TeamLeyva, thank you--and we wish you and your family a safe and #HappyThanksgiving!

I was honored to secure $1.7 million from the state budget to cover the construction costs for @_huertadelvalle's new Educational Center Project. This project will consist of a cooperative learning kitchen, a seed library and classroom, an amphitheater and solar canopy structure.

#TeamLeyva would like to wish our District Representative Alex Martinez a very happy birthday! Thank you for your hard work and all you've done for our #SD20 constituents ever since you first began in our district office as our intern. Happy birthday, Alex! Enjoy your day!

This morning, I joined @_huertadelvalle & @UFCW1428 one last time to pass out over 300 turkey meal bags to needy families in the region. Thank You to San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, @PenskeMoving & Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling for your partnership in this event. #operationgobble

It was so great to secure $1 million in state funding for Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Upskill’ program. Chamber President Zeb Welborn said it best, “Upskill will enhance collaboration among businesses, help entrepreneurs to start businesses in the Chino Valley.” – at Chino, CA

In addition to touring this new facility, I spoke to AP Government students. A $30M matching grant from California made it possible for Pacific High School & SBVC to collaborate on a new project to teach diesel/electric transportation mechanics to students at Pacific HS.

Today and always, we pause to honor and thank all of the brave men and women that have served our great country. We recognize their many sacrifices and offer our unending gratitude! #VeteransDay

Thank you to San Manuel Band of Mission Indians for your strong partnership over these past 8 years. It was great to tour your community center and meet with the folks delivering educational programs to the tribal community.

#TeamLeyva would like to wish Senate Education Committee Consultant Kordell Hampton a very happy birthday today! Kordell, you're a valuable addition to the team and I know you'll continue to be a great asset to the committee and Senate. Happy birthday, Kordell!

“After they have already been sexually assaulted — and after they have bravely endured a long and invasive rape kit exam — it is crucial that we enable survivors to track the status of their rape kit securely whenever they wish,” Leyva said. #SB215

It was a pleasure to join with CA AG Rob Bonta, and Alameda County DA, Nancy E. O'Malley, in Downtown LA, to talk about the Sexual Assault Evidence Kit Tracking Portal. I'm am proud that my bill, SB 215, will help many survivors get finally get the justice they deserve. – at Los Angeles, CA
