Odegaards performance was very underrated by many. Ran more than anyone on the pitch, won duels, organised everyone out of possession, retained possession, drew fouls when we needed it and of course caught Liverpool cold in the press to force the goal.

I cannot stress how important Martin Ødegaard is off the ball.
Without the skipper, Noni Madueke doesn’t quite know where to be yet when Arsenal are out of possession.
Martin Ødegaard was constantly talking him through the game, when to press and when to hold.
The skipper’s footballing IQ is so so good.

I’m not sure I understand this disgust towards Arsenal’s ‘style’ yesterday (although it’s the most predictable thing ever). From what I remember, we were the much better team on and off the ball for the first 15 mins, scored a wonderful team goal, hung on for 30 or so, then actually created the better chances in the second half and controlled the tempo too. Played some lovely football through midfield as well. Liverpool were frantic but did that lead to any better opportunities than the ones Arsenal worked for themselves? I don’t think so, outside that Mac Allister header

It’s not just a penalty. It should’ve been a red card, too. Clear as day.
