Municipal golf can and should exist symbiotically with other forms of public recreation. That's how East Potomac is designed. The golf course preserves a large swath of green space in the middle, and non-golfers are invited to enjoy the recreational areas along the perimeter. The different sections of the park are mutually supportive.
If the golf course subsumes everything around it, those interrelationships get broken. This is the kind of thing that gives golf a bad name and might make non-golfers everywhere wonder why public land and money should be devoted to the game.
Incredibly embarrassing for the Faz, and absolutely horrible for municipal golf, growing the game, and our public lands.
Not good for the game, and also not good for a guy named Jackson Koivun.
No laying up crew roasting the BV handles (specifically @EmmetDevereux) on the recent pod is great.
I have a soft spot for golf in northern Minnesota. I grew up traveling to the north shore every summer, hiking, fishing, and playing golf. The season may not be the longest, and the designs may not be the most prominent, but the courses truly immerse you in the great outdoors. Playing golf on the north shore of Lake Superior, or any region in the north woods is about more than golf. Golf doesn’t always have to be about pace of play or going low. Take a step back, get into nature, and enjoy the walk.

After reports of more than 500 trees cut down at East Potomac Golf Links this weekend, Judge Ana Reyes has called an immediate hearing this morning.
Representatives from both sides have been ordered to be prepared to testify under oath.
