Most recently, the Switch and Switch 2. The Wii U was objectively better in so many ways—going on 10 years since the Switch launched, booting one up is a depressing experience. Black or white, no MiiVerse, the overall silence is so oppressive.

Is it a hot take to say that I don’t consider Metroid or Castlevania games to be “Metroidvania” games? Because I don’t. Metroid games are Metroid games, Castlevania games are Castlevania games. I reserve the “Metroidvania” label for non-Metroid and non-Castlevania games.
