The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all. A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue. A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310. These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it. The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored. A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone. #PublicHealth #GoodGovernance #Leadership #TukaramMundhe moneycontrol.com/news/busine…

EXTRAORDINARY SPEECH FROM AN ORDINARY REHDI WALA "Govt talks about Logistics, to increase the GDP of the Country, Govt provides low-interest loans and cheap electricity to big businesses; however, Sir, if you do fail to provide Labourers fair compensation basic wages for their labor, then your GDP is of no use." raising concerns for Poor Labourers of our Nation. "We earn Rs. 500 & bring it home; we buy salt, soap, rice, and flour, and we pay taxes on those purchases too. We are taxpayers of India; we do not live on anyone's charity." He became breathless as he spoke up for the poor laborers, and he began to weep. "I have heard somewhere that this country is going through a 'golden age,' yet even today, the majority of Indians survive on less than the minimum income and work as manual laborers." his soft eloquent smile will melt your conscience, make your heart shudder and shake you to your very core; you will feel his anguish, but alas ! the helplessness, what can we do ? "No one talks about the laborer; the laborer cannot take to the streets, Sir. If he misses even a single day of work, the hearth in his home won't be lit, the laborer cannot protest." & he started crying...No government has the right to inflict such oppression and cruelty upon laborers. As I watched this video, I was compelled to think again, how can a Labourer, a rehdiwala, without have basic education, only using Google, hassuch a deep knowledge of Economic Crisis, spills the beans on sad State of Affairs of India's Labourers after being a 5 Trillion Economy ? Such a Clarity of thoughts on Subjects beyond his reach n Intellectual. Such ppl rise from the Slums, Life-Struggles, speak their heart, wisdom flows in their words like a fluent river, strikes our spinal cord n keep echoing in our Minds till a long time. Now, I feel proud that such ppl exist, Despite being poor, they are the heritage of this land, the future of our country, possessing an ideology that is bright and pure. Question is, who is responsible for their pitiful life, who cares for such ppl, who will assure justice to them, who will raise his voice for these poor Labourers? Let's use our Social Media for them, support them & save them from disappearing like snow-flakes in the air of Ignorance. Least we can do is, Tag all the Political Party Leaders along with this Video & help them make their Livelihood better. I have done my part, have you ?

I have been watching this man's videos, I am so glad he was at the protest and added his voice. He may not have much but he is more educated than our P M. Breaks my heart these people not only deal with poverty but also discrimination. Being born poor in India is a crime. 💔💔💔 xitter.cf/jitendr17900019/status…

1. People sharing a post, "What we were doing when US, China were focusing on AI, LLM? Our students were facing lathis, rape convicts were garlanded, violence in Manipur, lynching incidentss, hate speeches were on, digging under mosques, rallies in favour of Kathua & Unnao accused, bulldozer action, incidents like Hathras, meat search in fridges, hate speeches etc etc". 2. But what if the people sharing such posts don't know that in certain ancient texts the concept of 'Kritrim Buddhi' & 'Aprakritik Mastishk' were dealt with, and they came from West, took away the books in a secret opreration and translated to use it! 3. Besides, our understanding of society is different. Our people don't tinker with nature and we are not imitating others either. If needed, anytime, we can create much better things and models, than in East or West? 4. Actually, the thought is probably correct that the societies that go too fast, also get into self-destructive mode, because ultimately humans are real, and the artificial is unreal, which will harm this earth. 5. Hence, don't worry or turn self-hater. Our guys are running big tech companies. Just that we have ancient wisdom and we tread as we know how to move. When needed, we will see and act. No need to get into self-doubt, ever. Fine!

Imagine, what it takes for a frail, elderly man to feed family. Elderly found on streets in urban India--doing hard work. Fingerprints disappear due to hard work, tough to get benefits or access to schemes. Others have fun, celebrate & feel no poor left, 'See, everyone is making reels, even poor are having fun'. Really! Poverty is a curse. See beyond own gated communities, societies and colonies. Meet a 75-year-old, an 80-year-old doing hard labour, talk to him. Ask him if he has a trouble and if you can help him get a document through your knowledge of languages, systems, processes or internet literacy. If you wipe one tear, help one man, it will be real patriotism. Do it in 2025. India has made tremendous progress but we still have nearly 240 million or 24 crore poor. In fact, if you use other scale, then too, even 129 million or 12.9 crore are extreme poor. This is more than population of Japan. #Poverty #Poor #India #Elderly #SeniorCitizens #Indifference #Society #NewYear #HappyNewYear

Important points on the issue or rising racism, bigotry, apartheid and the audacity of people to tell others to 'go', 'leave'. Creating a fear of immigrants' invasion. The weird sense of entitlement that certain people can 'otherize' rest on the basis of skin colour, religion, race or faith. anindianmuslim.com/2024/12/r…
