During #NeuronalDifferentiation, #organelles dramatically reorganize. #Microtubules are essential tracks for transport. But are they just highways, or can they instruct organelle behavior? Are tubulin modifications a regulatory code that guides organelle position or function?1/9

Cells come in many shapes and sizes, with diverse physiological functions. But how do #organelles and their interaction networks remodel during #differentiation of stem cells into different cell types? Here’s what we discovered about neuronal differentiation: 1/13

Cool story from @YoniMalis and @KoretHirschberg on the role of Rab1 in targeting proteins from the #EndoplasmicReticulum to #LipidDroplets
Happy to share that our #Rab1 - #LipidDroplets paper is now published in @ScienceAdvances.
We show that Rab1b regulates the recruitment of the essential lipid synthesizing enzyme #DGAT2 from the ER to the LD surface in order to promote their growth.
We also link Rab1b’s role in LDs to the pathogenesis of Warburg Micro syndrome.

I’m thrilled to see @ia_windham and team’s work about the trafficking of #APOE to #LipidDroplets published today in @JCellBiol: rupress.org/jcb/article-abst… @ApoEdscvr
New preprint from the Cohen lab! Led by @iawindham, we found that astrocyte #APOE can traffic to #LipidDroplets, where it modulates LD composition and size: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… 1/12

Can scientists be taught how to choose good projects?
I took a fantastic class taught by @mfgrp last quarter where the foundational hypothesis is: Yes, they can!
And I continually come back to these core insights as I think about project choice and direction in my 2nd year of PhD:
