I get angry about AI 'art', because I feel that in the last few years ART SUSTAINED US, as we were literally trapped at home and needed a release.
We've dismissed how precious that is, just so we can make a dumb, meaningless image by typing words into a machine.
Imagine going through those years without art made by humans? Without comfort movies? Without tv shows like Better Call Saul or Succession? Without songs that you played on repeat because they made you feel better? Without videogames you could get lost in for a little while?
Ireland's poet president, sitting at his wildy messy desk, surrounded by books, art, memorabilia, and a single tiny monitor which i bet is never turned on.

One of the UK's most significant documentary photography institutions, that's been around for 45yrs, is closing this month due to critical funding cuts.
Help prevent that from happening.

AI is going to pollute photography to a point where we won't know if an image is by the original photographer.
Eg: when there are thousands of convincing Vivian Maier prompt images mixed in with her real images. Search engines wont distinguish. Curation hubs won't do research.
