The AI Sell-Off Isn’t Over: Watch For The Canary In The Coal Mine - podcast.
audioboom.com/posts/8968714-…
A severe structural timeline mismatch is emerging between ordering chips (under one year), building warehouse shells (two years), and securing high-voltage power connections from utilities (5 to 10 years).
Because AI processors rapidly depreciate within three to four years, idle capacity burns massive capital.
Hyperscalers such as Meta, Alphabet, Amazon, and Oracle are turning free cash flow negative as capex outpaces operating cash flow, turning to expensive debt issuance.
The canary in the coal mine sits with over-leveraged neo-clouds stockpiling GPUs and hardware makers vulnerable to sudden order pullbacks.
Brent Crude Oil Futures at $117. The third highest price paid this year.
Rumours of renewed offensive against Iran is one of the reasons also lower global oil reserves and China hoarding stocks.
These are the companies laying off people citing AI for the reason and the amount of people they are making redundant. Most of lay offs have happened or will happen this year. I don’t think this is the end of it.

This is the spread between French and German Bonds.
It's blowing out. Normally this spread is between 0.5% - 0.8%. It's now shot up to 1.7%.
This is a parabolic repricing of French sovereign credit risk. This crisis / intervention zone.
France’s Bond Yields have gone up by 150 bps since the start of the year and 485 bps since 2022. France’s annual debt interest payment is approaching €65 billion.
If debt interest payments were a government department it would be the most expensive apart from National Education but it’s close to becoming the most expensive department.
Their debt to GDP is now 116% way above the euro area average of 88% and far beyond the Maastricht target of 60%.
The 1992 Maastricht Treaty set out economic and fiscal benchmarks designed to ensure economic stability and discipline among European Union member states.
John Healey has reportedly drawn up plans for a tax raid on family businesses ahead of his first Budget.
If this is true, it’s just another example of Labour punishing some of the hardest workers in the UK to fund the ballooning welfare bill.
This is basically taxing the most productive parts of the economy to fund the most inefficient. It’s another policy that weakens the UK's economy.
It’s a tax on growth and undermines entrepreneurial motivation. If they do this, they will get trounced at the next general election in favour of any party that recognises and rewards hard work @JohnHealey_MP @andyburnham

Why an AI Market Crash Is Actually the Best-Case Scenario
audioboom.com/posts/8965984-…
When I watched this I was genuinely gobsmacked. My first reaction was, “This has got to be AI”. If it isn’t then this is probably the first real video that competes with the trickery of what AI could do.
If this is the result of real engineering, it is as they said in the video, “Bending the laws of physics” and truly remarkable.

Everplay #EVPL “Wardogs, the 100-player tactical first-person shooter game, has exceeded one million copies sold in day one after launching into Steam Early Access, also reaching over 340,000 concurrent players on Steam”
In 3 days time Everplay #EVPL releases Wardogs, which is a third party game. However EVPL holds exclusive global multi-platform publishing rights to it and also owns 20% equity in Wardogs’ parent company.
Wardogs just ran its final Open Beta play test over this past weekend.
All-Time Peak concurrent players were 245,118, more than doubled the peak recorded during the 21–23 August beta test window.
Wardogs ranked at #2 in the Global Top Sellers list.
This follows the release of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, on 13th August, which is showing sales of approximately 345,000 units sold on Steam alone.
Total multi-platform sales are tracking in the ~450,000 to ~530,000 unit bracket. Because Everplay owns the IP 100%, this secures the high-margin cash intake required to underpin H2 earnings targets.
Everplay’s Interim Results are released next Tuesday on 15th September.
The share price is testing the 200 day moving average.
