A VISIT TO VICE PRESIDENT KASHIM SHETTIMA: A MOMENT OF WISDOM, GUIDANCE AND RENEWED COMMITMENT TO NATION-BUILDING On Tuesday, 27 October 2026, I had the rare privilege of a private audience with His Excellency, Senator @KashimSM, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It was another valuable opportunity to draw from his wealth of experience, receive thoughtful guidance, and benefit from the wisdom of a leader whose political journey continues to inspire younger generations. Despite the brief nature of our engagement, one quality consistently stands out whenever I meet the Vice President: his humility and his belief that young people must look beyond their immediate comfort zones, embrace greater responsibilities, and identify meaningful ways to contribute to nation-building. During our discussion, the Vice President commended His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, for his commitment to youth inclusion and the deliberate creation of opportunities for young people to participate in governance. He encouraged us not to take such opportunities for granted but to demonstrate competence, integrity, dedication and results worthy of the confidence reposed in us. The engagement also provided an opportunity to discuss areas of potential opportunities for Yobe State to benefit from ongoing Federal Government initiatives. I reaffirmed our commitment, as young leaders and heads of government and political institutions, to work tirelessly in support of policies and programmes that promote national development and improve the lives of our people. We reflected on key initiatives of the Renewed Hope Agenda, including improved electricity supply in my state, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), increased remuneration for tertiary institution and Security personnel, more stable academic calendars, enhanced support for state governments, and investments in critical infrastructure. These reforms, among others, demonstrate the importance of sustaining policies that expand opportunities, strengthen institutions and deliver tangible benefits to Nigerians. The Vice President also expressed appreciation for Governor Mai Mala Buni’s contributions to the Renewed Hope 2.0 initiative and conveyed confidence in the Governor’s leadership and his capacity to consolidate the achievements of the administration in Yobe State while contributing to the broader success of the APC across Northern Nigeria. For me, every engagement with the Vice President is a reminder that leadership is a continuous journey of learning, service, sacrifice and responsibility. His counsel reinforces the need for young leaders to remain focused, appreciate the opportunities entrusted to them, and translate those opportunities into measurable progress for the people. As we look towards the future, our commitment remains firm: to communicate the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda, mobilise support for its people-centred reforms, and encourage Nigerians to sustain the progress being made under the leadership of President @officialABAT GCFR, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON. Every meeting brings fresh insight. Every word of counsel strengthens our resolve. And every opportunity to serve reinforces our commitment to a better Nigeria. BAT/KSM Again — For Continuity, Consolidation and Renewed Hope.

President Bola Tinubu received in audience the former President of the African Development bank (AFDB), Akinwunmi Adeshina (@akin_adesina )at the State House Abuja earlier today. "I came to brief Mr President of all of the things that was achieved during my time, I also had the opportunity to discussion with him as regards the support of the AFDB to Nigeria during my time. The support of the AFDB to Nigeria between 2015 to 2025 (about $7b) was greater than in the 70s(was about $11b). And the President has been pleased with all the supports"

President @officialABAT has renewed his pledge to shatter decades of systemic underperformance in Nigeria, anchoring the nation’s survival on his administration’s sweeping economic reforms. According to him, the administration is presently undertaking what it came on board to actualise: to rewrite the story of a nation that has performed below its potential for far too long. Speaking on Monday in Abuja when he formally declared open the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit, the Nigerian leader, who was represented by his deputy, Vice President @KashimSM, noted that his administration commenced on a difficult note because there is no shortcut to economic growth. “Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, we came to rewrite the story of a nation that has performed below its potential for far too long. But there is no shortcut to economic growth. This is why we began with a difficult reset. For us, rescuing the economy means rescuing livelihoods and transforming the fortunes of young jobseekers, farmers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and innovators.”

WATCH: ST is truly a “City Boy” @CityBoyMedia . Seyi Tinubu displayed maturity and understanding when an “innocent” elderly man bumbed into him at the APC Presidential campaign flag off in Kaduna. He simply looked away. It is even more amazing that a first son could be in the midst of crowd like that.

Earlier this morning, the Ebola patient in Nigeria and her contact, who is also her husband, were medically evacuated to Switzerland. The reasons for the evacuation are: ✅ Both the patient and her husband are Swiss citizens. ✅ The patient is clinically stable. The Nigerian medical team successfully managed her through the acute phase of the illness and stabilized her condition. On behalf of WHO and all partners, I warmly congratulate the Government of Nigeria, health workers, clinicians, emergency responders and all those involved in the response. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to what Africa can accomplish when we work together. With the evacuation of the patient and her husband, Nigeria currently has no Ebola cases. However, vigilance remains critical. Nigeria will continue the close follow-up of 52 contacts, while Switzerland will assume responsibility for the continued management of the patient and the follow-up of contact number 53, her husband. Congratulations once again to everyone involved. This is a proud moment demonstrating African expertise, resilience, and leadership in public health. No entanto, é fundamental manter a vigilância.
I Confirm that, with my approval, earlier this morning, the index case for Nigeria’s first imported Ebola virus disease departed Abuja for Switzerland. The index patient was clinically much improved, stable, conscious, communicating, and her clinical laboratory test results closing towards baseline. This does not mean she is not still infectious, hence the strict protocols in place. The patient was evacuated along with her spouse who has remained asymptomatic. I thank all the various clinical staff for the high quality care they provided the patient as well as the public health personnel who ensured the evacuation was carried out in line with best public health measures for such evacuations. We will provide further updates later this afternoon after the patient and her spouse lands successfully in their destination. All public health measures are continuing to ensure successful containment of the imported virus. I urge Nigerians to remain vigilant and rely on information from credible sources.

Operation Blackout is taking the fight directly to the international cybercriminal networks stealing billions from Americans. Our latest operation in Nigeria delivered: 9 ARRESTS. 53 electronic devices seized. $11 MILLION in potentially freezable funds identified across multiple countries. These scam centers exploit innocent victims, steal life savings, and operate across international borders believing they are beyond the reach of law enforcement. They’re wrong. Thanks to Nigerian law enforcement and our partners in London for their outstanding cooperation. To the criminals targeting Americans from overseas: JUSTICE WILL FIND YOU.

You can never regret doing well in school. If you are still in school, give it your best. If you are out of school, and didn’t give it your best or didn’t do well or it just didn’t click for you, it’s not the end of the world. Find yourself, find a niche, and excel. In whatever you do, what is worth doing, is worth doing well. But again, please, do well in school. All the best!

Fake News Alert from clueless opposition: 1. The original video shows the president shaking with his right hand with the receiving line to his left.. The fake video posted by @arinzecajet001 depicts a mirror-reversed video with the receiving line on the wrong side and claims the president shook with his left hand with the receiving line on the right. By protocol, the receiving line is always on the right of a plane towards the plane nose 2. The video depicting an alleged arrival in Kaduna is actually a departure from Abuja video. @arinzecajet001 falsely claimed it is an arrival video. 3. In the original arrival video in Kaduna, the president steps from the plane and shakes the hand of VP Shettima first, then skates Governor Uba Sani. Can you spot the difference? Shine your eyes and don’t be deceived by a frustrated, angry opposition. Pray for them. VERDICT: @arinzecajet001 is a false alarmed and his video is fake. The ai logo superimposed on the video is also fake.

It’s okay to admit you are ignorant. Fullo/Pullo refers to the Fulani. They are an ethnic group, not a non-state armed group. You obviously don’t know what a non-state actor means. They are as entitled to employment in any social setting as anyone else. This is akin to someone referring to you, an Igbo man, as an IPOB militant simply because of your ethnic origin. The Fulani have been unfairly stereotyped by bigots like you, who lump every Fulani person together as an “armed non-state actor” or a criminal. The VP’s post here humanises them and portrays them as law-abiding citizens with equal rights to employment and the constitutional freedom of association. You are quick to dish out bigotry but always rush to play the victim when your ethnic group is stereotyped in a similar fashion.
