Public school educators...just a PSA that not all kids celebrate Christmas, and not all those who do get presents from Santa. I love the week before winter break for its anticipation and celebrations, but inclusive language and activities matter more than ever.

One of the most important things you will do today is elect George Griffin, Riza Jenkins, and Mike Sharp to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro school board. Let's go! #carrboro #chapelhill #vote
Today I voted for George Griffin, Riza Jenkins, and Mike Sharp for @chccs school board. It's a critical year to be alert. We need candidates who are committed to public education and to creating opportunities for all students. These are our candidates. #vote #carrboro #chapelhill

Every morning on my way to work I pass a mother reading Brown Girl Dreaming by @JackieWoodson to her daughter while waiting for the bus. It is a beautiful way to start my day.

Hey teachers, After a biased comment is made and you missed it (for whatever reason). Don't ever be afraid to go back. Bring the convo back to the moment. Model for Ss what it's like to make time to stand up to bias. It's never too late.
