Congrats @t_lindsay_sci !! Nice work!
I’m so excited to share my preliminary research on the #temperate coral #Astrangia in this summer’s @ICRSCoralReefs Reef Encounters! Check out pages 61-65!
The undergrad researchers are working round the clock in the lab @myrwu with our @TxStateResearch collaborators on our @NSF BRC-BIO supported research.
Learning so much from @LaurenFuess, refining our methods for exploring cnidarian microbiomes and symbiosis! #Astrangiathings
Fabulous week in RI @myrwu with @LaurenFuess @TxStateResearch and her group. Undergrads from both institutions learning more about local marine ecosystems and #Astrangiathings!

Another Temperate Coral Research Conference @myrwu in the books! Exciting to be watching this field move forward so quickly, and to discuss how we can apply the #astrangiathings we’ve learned to address climate change threats on our temperate and tropical marine ecosystems alike!
It’s a joy to coordinate these with @SeanPGrace and @RandiRotjan - this year we are generating new shared resources/protocols for culturing, husbandry, and public awareness campaigns. This community is as mighty as the #temperatecorals it studies!
Beautiful day at RWU Commencement yesterday.
Thrilled to have celebrated our newest grads @myrwu!!

Check out our latest pub! Really cool study with potentially major implications for how we should be thinking about coral reef restoration and coral aquaculture endeavors. @AmyApprill @cole_easson @thatsasponge @SpongeSymbiont
🚨New research🚨
A stable isotope study reveals a nutrient recycling pathway in which coral 🪸 holobiont incorporates nutrients from sponge-derived matter. Interspecific differences in this process align with ecophysiological characteristics of the coral
