It's the harness. It's not the intelligence, man. It's the engine they built in that harness that does the front-end work that everybody loves, because for most people (95%), that's the type of work they do. Anthropic is not the best model in so many other ways, and those other ways are a thousand times more difficult than front-end work. But most people will never be able to analyze the models in that kind of way. They're not doing system engineering, they're not doing litigation, and they're not doing these other types of tasks that are way harder, which Anthropic models cannot hang with. I see this myself. I use these models 24/7; they never stop running goals (autonomous work, system engineering, litigation, stuff like that). With the sheer volume of people analyzing it based purely on front-end work, they are being glorified like they are the gods of AI. In reality, it's just a good engine and a good harness for that popular type of work. That's not opinion. This is 100% fact.
