More student work on display in the GSEC hallway. Always great but a superintendent feels a little something extra when his cluster school is featured. @GSSD204 @DRB_Bears
Our HCSA program was a part of my Fun Friday. Great to see the engagement of our hockey academy students & our instructors providing some actionable feedback to act upon. @GSSD204 @HockeyCanada
I had seen Canadian author @davidbouchard while teaching in Manitoba. It was with a good heart I accepted an invitation to hear him again at one of my schools. He was fabulous again. Genuine story teller with humour and lessons for all. Touched by his gift. @GSSD204
Enjoyed a nice game of Sight Word Bingo today. Not lucky enough to win against these skilled readers, but a good way to hang among students. @GSSD204 @DRB_Bears
Today on World Health Day, let’s recognize that health is more than the absence of illness. It’s about physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Together, we can build healthier communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. republicworld.com/health/wor…
Love the play to learn settings! A doctor office was set up. Admissions. Stethoscopes. Blood pressure. Cray. Casts & bandages. Students were super engaged & knowledgeable.
I also got checked out. All good but a “bug” showed up on my chest X-ray. 🐞

Another day. Another school. Given the early point in the year, these Grade 1s were solid in their identification of core patterns and completing patterns that were already established. Good stuff! ✅ @GSSD204
The best little mathematician I saw today. He was knocking out the place value today. @GSSD204
Another classroom and another book used to prompt some discussion & writing among students. #BookPurpose @knollknights @gssd204
I was need of a bit of regulation in the afternoon. Fortunately, I found a place with this Kindergarten class. Found my balance! @knollknights @gssd204
Students using grid paper as they practice their multiplication skills. Lots of open ended questions being asked of students. #SharedThinking @GraysonSchoolSK @GSSD204
Grizzlies in the K-3 room were built ok shopping. One of my favourite observations was how the older students are looking after the 8 Kindergarten students this year. Perfect mentor- mentee opportunities. @GraysonSchoolSK @GSSD204
I’ve always appreciated a good working space. In this case, the intervention teacher was using a carpet area and working with students to consolidate their understanding of place value & the power of ten. @GSSD204
Dropped in on a rural high school English class and discussed around “The Doll House.” @GSSD204 Appreciated the student responses to my own check-ins on the first week of school.
While committing to my superintendent walkthrough, I was pleased to see the early engagement of students with their new grade teachers. One of these was a former student of mine when I was principal.
The stuff you want to see at the start of a school year. @GSSD204
I appreciate a teacher who selects their books for shared reading with purpose. This book was the activating portion of a lesson & activity. @DRB_Bears @GSSD204
Nice halfway reminders about habits, behaviours & executive functions that make a student’s life easier. #BearsWay @DRB_Bears @GSSD204
Cluster Walk Through: Enjoyed the place value discussions occurring between students as well as teacher- student. Good things happening! @knollknights @GSSD204
