By exposing himself to a nationwide arse-kicking, President Trump made America great again.
You think they might have learned from second wave feminism of the downside to the patriarchal control women.
Tradwives are fleeing the movement: ‘I can’t undo my past – but I can warn other women’ — In recent years, some of the most vocal tradwives have left their husbands, renounced their religious faith and promoted financial independence. What is behind this sudden and seismic shift?

I hope he goes down for a very long time.

ALT Louisa Compton, Director of News, Digital and Audience Trust at Channel 4 said: “The outcome of the Russell Brand trial belongs to all of the women who had the courage to speak out – all of those who participated in the criminal process and those different women who shared their testimony in the original Channel 4 Dispatches and The Sunday Times and The Times investigation. “The trial heard that women involved in the criminal case came forward after seeing the Channel 4 Dispatches film. It is a powerful demonstration of why fearless, independent, investigative journalism in the public interest matters. We remain profoundly grateful to every woman who trusted the Channel 4 reporting team.”

There is much to celebrate this week, but I want to call specific attention to historic gains Democratic women made in representation:
- For the first time in history, over 100 Democratic women will serve in the U.S. House.
- At least 16 Democratic women will serve in the Senate.
- At least 14 Democratic women will serve as governors, a record high.
- A record of 2,600 Democratic women running for seats in state legislatures helped flip 12 majorities and break 11 supermajorities.
- Four states elected their first woman governor: Georgia, Minnesota, Ohio, and Tennessee.
- @KeishaBottoms will be the first Black woman to serve as a governor.
- @DebHaalandNM will be the first Native American woman to serve as a governor.
- @GinaHinojosaTX will be the first Latina to serve as governor of Texas.
- @peggyflanagan will be the first Native American woman to serve in the Senate.
I am beyond excited to see these extraordinary people and public servants tackle accountability, affordability, and our other challenges to make life better for everyone in this country.
Congratulations to everyone who ran: win or lose, fighting for what's right is always worth it.

1 in 4 women in the UK have been raped or sexually assaulted since the age of 16
6 in 7 rapes against women in the UK are carried out by someone they know
5 in 6 women who are raped in the UK don’t report it to the police
Fewer than 3 in 100 rapes recorded by UK police in 2024 resulted in someone being charged that same year
It is an abhorrent crime committed by cowards. Every perpetrator put in prison is a blessing.

Women Soul of the Nation
Georgia voters elected eight Black women to help lead our state. Their work will touch our lives every day, from how we educate our children and protect voting rights to what families pay to keep the lights on.
I’m celebrating these women and the people who organized, registered voters and showed up to make these victories possible.
Congratulations to Georgia’s newly elected leaders:
Keisha Lance Bottoms, governor
Tanya Miller, attorney general
Penny Brown Reynolds, secretary of state
Katherine E. Juhan-Arnold, commissioner of agriculture
Nikki Porcher, commissioner of labor
Lydia Powell, state school superintendent
Keisha Sean Waites, insurance commissioner
Shelia Edwards, Public Service Commission, District 5
I pray that you use the power entrusted to you to protect people’s rights, make their lives better and serve every Georgian with dignity and care.

I wish my mother could have seen Georgia last night.
When she called on women to become the soul of the nation, she was asking us to help shape what this country stands for and how it treats its people. She spent her life putting those words into action.
I thought of her as Keisha Lance Bottoms became the first Black woman elected governor of a U.S. state. I thought, too, of the Black women who went door to door, registered voters and organized for years. Many did not live to see what they helped make possible.
Congratulations, Governor-elect Bottoms. Congratulations also to Penny Brown Reynolds, Georgia’s next secretary of state, and Tanya Miller, our next attorney general.
I’m thinking of the Black girls who will grow up seeing women who look like them lead Georgia. I pray they see what my mother saw in leadership: the power to make life better for others and the responsibility to use it.

Last night, Americans made a clear call for accountability and affordability.
A body politic cannot recover until its harms have been treated and its wounds have been healed. Crimes against our people and our Constitution must be answered for. The historic abuses of the last two years must be prevented from happening again.
American families should be able to thrive, not just survive. Every child should have the chance to live up to his or her full potential. The American Dream must be more than a mirage.
I am confident Democrats can deliver both, and much more.
The post-Trump era begins now.

"It's fine, he wasn't a Reform politician when he was allegedly raping a whole bunch of women and girls" is quite a wild take
Can we just be clear about George Madgwick please. His offences were committed 2008-2021.
George Madgwick was not a Reform UK councillor (or any kind of councillor) in 2008. The alleged offences cover the period 2008–2021, but his involvement with Reform UK came much later. whocanivotefor.co.uk
Key timeline from election records and reporting:
• He was first elected as a councillor in May 2021, standing as an Independent for the Paulsgrove ward on Portsmouth City Council (he founded the Portsmouth Independents Party). hantsandsolent-ca.gov.uk
• He had previously stood unsuccessfully for UKIP in a 2019 Portsmouth local election and as an Independent in the 2019 general election. whocanivotefor.co.uk
• He joined Reform UK around July 2025 (he posted in July 2026 that he had joined “one year ago this week”). @georgedmadgwick
• He was elected to Hampshire County Council (North East Havant) as a Reform UK candidate in the May 2026 elections and became the party’s group leader there. portsmouth.co.uk
Reform UK itself only came into existence in 2021 (as a rebrand of the Brexit Party, which was founded in 2018–19). Madgwick therefore had no connection to the party in 2008.

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.
These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy.
While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

Trump will REMAIN President, but what he CAN'T do now:
1. *Can't pass any law:*
Needs Parliament. With Democrats at 90, all his bills will be blocked.
2. *Can't get money:*
Parliament controls the budget. No funding for his MAGA projects, Wall etc.
3. *Faces Impeachment Risk:* Democrats can start investigations and even move impeachment.
4. *Can't appoint Judges/Officials freely:* Senate will block his picks.
5. *Can't do big foreign deals:*
Trade deals, war funding needs Parliament nod.
In short: He will stay in the White House, sign Executive Orders, but Parliament and Courts can overturn them.
He becomes a *Lame Duck President* - President in name, powerless in reality.
