Today is Yom HaShoah There are over 60 holocaust survivors living in Ottawa, but their basic needs are not fully covered by existing programs. A donation to JFS Ottawa can make a huge difference in the lives of our community’s elderly survivors. canadahelps.org/en/dn/100718

For anyone who has encountered a story about the latest CCSA recos concerning alcohol consumption, or any story about radically reduced drinking being the only healthy option, this is a thread worth reading in full!

I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking and talking about the CCSA low alcohol guidelines. It’s frustrating because you hear the neo-temperance perspective with little consideration that this is ideological and damaging. So a thread to get it out of my brain.

Another recent beer that impressed, from Shillow in Ottawa. Some rye malt brings the weizen style (Roggen) to a new level. Spicy, a little clove and fruit, spring water-like spritz. Touch smoke in the malt. These work together with none obtruding.
