Everyone in the #maritime industry starts their career in chaos and keeps telling themselves, ‘I just need to sort these things out, and then it’ll be calm.’ Years later, still sorting, still waiting for the calm. 😂

Wait, that’s $39 billion… with a “B”?!
The UAE has led a global crackdown on digital fraud, resulting in more than 960 arrests and the discovery of over $39 billion in illicit funds and assets. The operation involved Interpol and law enforcement agencies from 30 countries. The three-month operation thwarted more than 123.7 million online fraud attempts, blocked 4,126 bank accounts and shut down 570 social media accounts. Targeting AI-enabled scams, financial fraud and online sextortion, the operation also identified 3,500 suspects and 15,500 victims worldwide

“Only when the last opportunity has been fully regulated, the last talent fully lost, and the last technology innovation missed, will we realize we cannot eat legal papers.” More regulation to enable please. Less to limit.

German Precision my ass. Motor I order for 50K EUR from one of Germany’s top manufacturers: - wrong certification - lead time extended by 100% on the scheduled week of delivery - final weight 70% more than designed - wrong dimensions
Not just manufacturing - service industry also. Called up a company to request service attendance (20-30K EUR approximate cost) - no reply to emails, no one in office & incredibly rude reception lady ("I can't help you *click*"). 5 of my ships have their equipment on board.

Came across some clips of @TulsaKing & surely this is based on the true story of @GravanoTheBull… A New York mobster heads out West and builds a new criminal operation… Heard the true story also through @shaunattwood & @MichaelFranzese …riveting!

My next crusade is to destroy European manufacturing after the stress they have put me through. The indifference, apathy and laziness should not be awarded just because they have some castles & cobblestone. Been boycotting Norway for 1.5 yrs, >$15 million. Germany is next.

When you read history & learn that Baghdad was the center of science & you can’t understand why the people allowed it to fall apart, remember these moments & images from Paris. I don’t blame the youth, immigrants, vandals, etc. They’re acting naturally. I blame the politicians.

At the same port in Nafplio, luxury exploration yacht ALESUND. Yacht is managed by Abu Dhabi’s Al Seer Marine, which manages other Abu Dhabi royalty vessels. Home Depot founder & Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank’s $200M Oceanco yacht SHODAN also here.
Decided to get up close & personal with Sheikh Mansour’s yacht BLUE, and also saw HADAR (ex FLYING FOX) moored next to it! Drove to our next destination & his third yacht A+ (ex TOPAZ) is also there. 3 Lurssen gigayachts in one day, all Sheikh Mansour’s 🇦🇪

Yesterday, I had the chance to meet Tor Olav Trøim again. His approach to investing and business is truly inspiring. He believes in the jackup thesis and has invested $40m of his own money in $BORR over the past two weeks. When was the last time you saw insider buying on that scale? What makes it even more remarkable is that, despite the attractive long-term outlook, the short-term picture remains relatively weak. But if you know something will be worth twice as much in three years, how much time should you spend worrying about next quarter? Are you really willing to risk missing a $6 move just to get a $1 lower entry price? I share his conviction in offshore. Supply is constrained, demand is growing, and the next few years could bring a further acceleration as oil companies convert additional cash flows into exploration budgets. When the Iran conflict eventually ends, deferred demand could rebound like a compressed spring, adding further pressure to an already tight market. Meanwhile, much of the market is chasing whatever is hottest: AI, datacenters, momentum, even tankers. In doing so, investors may be overlooking a rare opportunity to allocate capital to irreplaceable, essential assets in a sector where the supply response doesn´t exist. I was also struck by the respect he has for Cobas and Azvalor, two Spanish investment funds that share this long-term, business-owner mentality. We live in a world where most of us, myself included, are too focused on the immediate future: getting the next quarter right, timing entries perfectly, and avoiding volatility. Yet great fortunes are often built by playing a different game. Being able to learn from people of this calibre is something I’m extremely grateful for. 🙏

Went on a major hike to the lighthouse at Cape Tainaron: southernmost point in the Peloponnese, entrance to the Greek underworld (Hades), through which passed Hercules, Orpheus, Theseus, Psyche. Quite a difficult hike, but worth every twisted ankle.

This must be one of the most straightforward trades of my life. With low EU gas stocks going into winter, coal burning will drive this higher. Historically the bull-run ends mid/late January, I’ll take profit around New Year. Reenter March/April.

Bumped into an American lady here in Athens. Think she was a TV presenter before or something. Forgot to ask what she was doing here but she told me she needed some help with her Amex bill. Said she could pay me back before next market open. Something about Iran, oil & crypto.
