Good #communication is key to good relationships. This is true in our personal & professional lives. Everyday, we have to practice how to communicate effectively, how to share our perspectives, and how to listen to others. We never stop learning how to communicate. #leadership

It not hard to call out racism, homophobia, and anti-blackness. It’s not hard to push for accountability and healing.
It’s hard to watch other people you love and respect stay silent.

Black and Brown solidarity is an action. It’s an conscious decision to build together and to uplift a shared struggle and commitment to a shared future.
Black erasure. Political violence against Black People. The demonization of Black Children. None of this is acceptable.
There is a crisis in leadership on various levels throughout the City of Los Angeles and has been in recent years. We need people to LEAD! We need courageous leaders focused on making long-term operational change to improve the quality of life for all Angelenos!
People say a lot of things out of anger/frustration. Racist comments aren’t the first things that come out in those moments, unless those are sentiments people believe. This likely sn’t the first time the councilmembers made those comments,it’s the first time they got caught!

Replying to @TroyFVaughn
@TroyFVaughn the CEO of @TheLAMission spoke about how to change housing policies to best address the crisis in this city. On the panel also were leaders from @UnitedWay, @lotuscampaign, and @KPSCAL. Thank you so much for moderating @ShmelGraham and for hosting @ulilosangeles.

The way that a Black woman in America can be as highly, hyper educated, intelligent, elegant, skilled, experienced and qualified as KBJ and still be treated like this by white men on national television. It's not even symbolic. It's a glaring body of evidence.

For those who just watched that spectacle: this is what happens when you don’t have a valid argument to work with.
The honorable #KetanjiBrownJackson is brilliant, eloquent, dynamic and graceful! She should not have been subjected to this treatment! Race has everything to do with it! Let’s not forget how the entitled Justice confirmed two years ago acted when accused of sexual assault 🙄
#Senate members should be ashamed of how they have treated and insulted Hon. #KetanjiBrownJackson! It is infuriating to watch these performances by Senators! They lack respect, class, morals, and values! #SupremeCourtConfirmation

While watching SNF I was shocked and very disappointed by Dungy and Tirico’s responses. This article captures my disappointment and hits the nail on the head!! usatoday.com/story/sports/co…

As City Accelerator expanded its reach in 2017, we learned that w/o applying a racial equity lens, we were not helping cities achieve economic opportunity for all. We launched our 1st Inclusive Procurement cohort w/ @ChicagoDPS @OBDCMem @cityoflosan @CLTgov @cityofmilwaukee
Voting rights, anti-lynching legislation, programs and policies to address the inequities in K-12 education, killing of unarmed Black people by police & systemic inequities in the criminal justice system matter…not a “symbolic” holiday!!! Stop it with patronizing Black people!
To Whom It May Concern,
Please stop slapping “JUNETEENTH” in front of whatever you’re doing this weekend that has nothing to do with JUNETEENTH!!
Sincerely,
Descendants

The level of hurt I feel for someone I don't know, is so real. It's brings home, yet again, the reality for Black people that our best, our genius, is still not seen as a value. Unreal.

A lot of ppl feel relief, but there is a certain type of relief I'm seeing in my inbox, group chats, TL, & on TV that is a special kind of non-Black relief. Like "it's"over. Just know for those of us who are Black, we took a breath, but we know we still can't fully breathe.

Heartbreaking: around the time the jury reached a verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial, Columbus Ohio police shot and killed a 15 year old girl #makiyahbryant who had called the police for help. WHEN WILL IT END?!?
