Close up photos at the meet-up.
Strawberry heart macarons, earl grey madeleines, regular old battenberg cake. Because I was supposed to “bring something small” to a meetup.

Pair of cakes for a birthday party. Red velvet, and a "strawberry cheesecake" cake. The latter inspired by Boone Bake's recent video.

Happy Pi Day Though ngl I'm really not much of a pie person, baking or eating. But might as well give it a go. Used the custard pie recipe from King Arthur, surprisingly I've never actually made a custard-filling pie. Fruit? Sure. Cream? Sure. Frangipane? Sure. But not custard.

Red velvet macarons for @HaruNishimuraCh because he forgot that I bake with a threatening aura and WILL follow up on a joke 😄

So, another tea party showstopper dedicated to my video game husbando. Also very taste-inspired by my oft-ignored Swedish background. (A lot of cinnamon, cardamom, coffee, and field berries in this one, folks) Didn't quite turn out how I'd planned in my mind, but oh well.

Definitely having a baking session where it's, like... "You know, maybe it's better the phone stays silent." Multi-component bake and literally every component went wrong. 🫥

Mudslide Meringue Brownie Bars A take on an old @cbcbakingshow Signature Bake. These (very) alcohol-filled bars will get me through Singles Awareness Day! 😭 Kahlua brownies, with a Baileys condensed milk caramel, topped with Bailey's-laced marble ganache and Italian meringue.

Red velvet heart-shaped, and matcha swirl with chocolate filling macarons. Made for a friend to give to their Valentine. Maybe I’ll make myself something filled with Baileys later for myself.

Sometimes I wonder if local friends actually realize that I not only *can* do baking for them, but *want to*. I sometimes just see posts and want to go "You know I'm *right here* and would pretty much make that for you for free." And yet here we are.

A bit ironic not even two hours after this post already have yet another instance of having cake-providing services turned down in favour of store bought. Honestly really having a bit of a time wanting to keep up this hobby lately...

White Mocha Biscotti Mousse Tart A bit late for the bake along, but my take on the “milk & cookies tart” challenge from the @cbcbakingshow holiday special. Almond cocoa tart, coffee jelly, white mocha mousse, with biscotti and biscotti crumbs.

Oh. Huh. Season eight applications appear to be open. ... Probably should, but with how last year went for me...

I say this now, but who knows if I'll follow through, but one thing I wanna do more this year is traybakes and bars. More smaller-in-scope-but-still-delicious-and-can-be-played-around-with-in-terms-of-theming-and-flavour.

In line with this, I really want to do more tea platter-type bakes this year. I can't really host at my place (my apartment setup is... uh... hostile to visitors :P), but it'd kinda be nice to have a tea party with friends regularly.

NOT in-line with this, I also kind of want to get involved with one of those 'cakes for kids' type charities, but I'm clueless as to what local ones are good. Or if my baking even is good enough. I mean, I see some of the pics, and 'kid-focused cakes' aren't really my forte...
