One Quarter In, Here's An Honest Report Card 3 months ago, I pledged to renew hope, build trust and reduce trauma for the people we serve. While the period is not enough to fix everything, it is sufficient to be honest about what has changed and what still needs work. So, here's an honest account: ✅ Listened: 52,517 complaints came in this quarter and 50,370 have been treated; in my first five days alone, we cleared a backlog of more than 5,000 service tickets. ✅ Made access easier: candidates can now upload O'Level results and pre-register from home, recover their profile if they lose a registered SIM or email through identity checks that keep impostors out, and accept admission on CAPS or by shortcode. ✅ Stayed open about our systems: we published our uptime record, bad days included, acknowledged that system reliability still needs work, and corrected more than 4,000 candidates' records through the NIN Alignment Service with NIMC. ✅ Protected the process: one institution's admissions were suspended, and four people were arrested for impersonation and admission racketeering. ✅ Invested in our people: I visited seven state offices, from Sokoto to Lagos, and put the budget for my official car into departmental operational vehicles and buses for staff. We also launched a nationwide in-person training exercise through the JAMB Training School, exposing every member of staff to customer service and technical process training over the coming weeks. ✅ Looked ahead: an expert team submitted its report on bringing critical thinking and life skills into how we assess candidates, and CAPS moved to a new platform at the end of October. This is the TRUST framework in action.
