Reminds me of Razaq Ahmed's @razaqahmed1 story.
Guy just wanted to be a generator mechanic in his area in Kano because the most economically stable person around him is his generator mechanic uncle.
Relocated to university environment later and saw that he (as secondary school student) could do the math the university student neighbours were doing. Upped his ambition.
The rest is history.
Today:
- First class degree in economics
- CFA holder without writing any stage twice
- Current president of CFA Nigeria
- ex Shell, Vetiva, Meristem
- CEO & co-founder of Cowrywise
- badass finance guru.
All he wanted to be as a JSS 1 student was a generator mechanic!

Yes, they do. He might have just picked interest in being a footballer due to their exposure to football games and knowledge of football.
When I asked one of my students what he wants to become in future he said a Welder, and wrote a composition why he wants to become a welder. His dad wrote to me to convince him to choose a better profession.😀
His dad is a welder, his brother is a welder, that was what he was exposed to,hence the choice of his profession.
Realized during housejob that how stressful a call is greatly depends on the personality of the chiefs you're working with.
A call can be crazy but some chiefs will calm the storm and even bring laughter.
Some chiefs also have an uncanny ability to generate chaos in a calm call

If you're ambitious but lazy, please imagine what happens if nothing changes. Same habits. Same excuses. Same frustrations. Another 10 years gone. Then imagine the life you could build instead. Use the difference to remind yourself why today's actions matter.

Underrated life advice: Keep your personal burn rate low. Cheaper car. Smaller house than the bank says you can afford. No payment you'd panic about if work got weird. Low expenses aren't about being cheap. Low expenses give you options. And options = freedom.

have the audacity to look at a one in a million outcome and become personally offended that you’ve been expected to rule yourself out. there is a human being somewhere who is going to accomplish what everyone else has already decided is unreasonable. go become that human being. make them explain how the hell you did it.

練習とは「下手な自分を毎日見る」ことなので、自己像を守りたい人ほどサボる。だから続けたいなら、上達を目指すより先に、下手な自分にうんざりすることに慣れるほうが早いのかもしれない。
You don’t want to be the guy who has spent years studying crypto, blockchain, Python, copywriting, forex, affiliate marketing and graphic design, yet has no clear career direction in any of them.
Consolidate your knowledge and systemise your efforts around something, no matter how small. Bet on it. Make the right sacrifices and the necessary mistakes.
Endlessly consuming information and analysing them without any skin in the game, or worse leaving each time it gets uncomfortable, only nurtures your fears and protects your ego.
