Giving your absolutely everything does not guarantee you get anything. But do it over a decade, the results will be amazing. Trust the process.

$40,000 worth of GPUs
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗔: the largest African language model ever trained from scratch, at 1.5 billion parameters. Not a fine tune, this was trained from the ground up for Africa. 🌍
Trained on 12 African languages, it beats models from Google, Meta, Alibaba and HuggingFace on African language modelling and translation while being up to 8x smaller.
𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗔 doesn't belong to us. The weights are open and free to use commercially, so researchers can build on a base that doesn't treat African languages as an afterthought.
Weights in the comments.
Thanks to @UNDP, @AIHub4SD and CINECA for the GPUs and the support. None of this happens without them.

African Hero is about bringing people together to create meaningful impact.
In Botswana, the newly launched school and clinic were built without taking a single pula from Government.
We do not own the land. We did not take transfer of the land. Government did not fund the construction. The facilities were built using donor and private capital for the benefit of the people of Botswana.
Criticism is always welcome, but it should be based on the facts.
Our focus remains simple: do good work, create lasting impact and continue building for communities that need it most.

ever thought about how the instrumentalist feel about Fl studio
I know this is a new era and I will probably use AI but to say AI is the same as using FL Studio is an absurd dishonest comparison.
FL studio or any other DAW requires you to create and program chords, find the key of the song, record the vocalist, mix the vocals, create a drum pattern, arrange your song from Verse, Chorus, Vers2 and bridge, conclude the music according to the vocal sequence by adjusting your chords MANUALLY of which requires music knowledge.

English town names tell a lot of history. Anything ending in -caster, -cester or -chester was a Roman fort. -bury and -borough are Saxon forts. If it ends in -by it was settled by vikings (by is still the Swedish and Norwegian word for village.) -ford is a river crossing.

You have probably seen the famous bell curve hundreds of times before.
It is often referred to as some sort of “probability”. Contrary to popular belief, this is NOT a probability, but a probability density.
What are densities and why do we need them?
