This festival is in Tyler, TX. I live here. I attend this festival every year, and it’s amazing. It’s about community and fun. No politics, no drama. Just fun. It showcases our beautiful Rose Garden, which is a staple here. We are the Rose Capital of the World. This woman posted this video, went viral for it, and managed to completely victimize herself the entire time. She called the event “so white” that it made her uncomfortable. About halfway through, she shares that some teens were discussing the fact that she came to this festival dressed like a homeless person. “The rudeness… the audacity!” And she called them “entitled white cis men.” “This whole thing reeks of white people.” And even though she is white, it made her feel uncomfortable. Girl. Just leave. I don’t know where you want to be, but clearly it’s not in our beautiful city. Imagine attending a ROSE FESTIVAL and somehow managing to turn flowers, families, and community festivities into a racial identity crisis.
