Just randomly remembered what happened yesterday at an event . My friend @Simiola33 said “it’s online that most people are fine, many of us no fine for real life”. The way I shouted “ me I’m fine in real life o” you will think it’s me she was talking about 😆😆😆

When I was growing up, I was taught that in the olden days, our forefathers and foremothers used the full moon (Oṣù) as a way of knowing and choosing the dates for different Òrìṣà festivals. In my lineage, Ilé Yemoja, Ìbàdàn, this tradition is still being followed. Our ancestors understood the movement and appearance of the full moon. When they saw the moon in a particular stage, they already knew which Òrìṣà festival was approaching. This wisdom has always fascinated me and made me curious. I started asking myself many questions: How did our ancestors read the moon? How did they know the right time? How did they connect the appearance of Oṣù with the festivals of the different Òrìṣà? These questions made me want to learn more about our tradition and the wisdom that was passed down from generation to generation. Today, I give endless thanks to Olódùmarè, my Orí, Ẹgbẹ́ and Yemoja for guiding me to Ilé Oníṣẹ̀ṣe and especially for bringing my father, Babalórìṣà Omikunmi Egbelade into my life. Baba mi, you have been one of my greatest sources of knowledge when it comes to the Òrìṣà and our traditional practices. You have patiently taught me many things and shared knowledge that I continue to carry with me today. May Olódùmarè bless you with many more years, good health, peace, wisdom and abundance. May your knowledge continue to grow and may you continue to guide many generations to come.....Baba mi, mo dúpẹ́. Àṣẹ! 🙏🏿 You taught me how to observe and read Oṣù (the full moon) and this is a tradition I have continued to follow until today. Whenever the full moon begins to appear, I am able to recognise that a particular Òrìṣà festival is approaching. Since I was young, I have never taken the time to capture the different stages of the moon until it became full for the Yemoja Ìbàdàn Festival. But this year is different. This year, I was able to capture every stage of the moon as it changed, from one shape to another until it reached its full form. For me, this is more than simply taking pictures of the moon. It is a beautiful way of connecting with the knowledge I was taught, observing nature and honouring the tradition that has been passed down to me. I feel deeply fulfilled and grateful to have witnessed and documented this journey. As Oṣù has appeared in its fullness yesterday, we look forward to receiving guidance from Yemoja and knowing when her sacred festival will begin today💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿 The moon has spoken through the tradition we were taught and we continue to honour the wisdom of our ancestors. Olódùmarè, mo dúpẹ́. 🙏🏿 Orí, mo dúpẹ́. 🙏🏿 Yemoja Òógùn, mo dúpẹ́. 🙏🏿 Ẹgbẹ́, mo dúpẹ́. 🙏🏿 May the Yemoja Ìbàdàn Festival be greater, more beautiful and more successful than previous years. Kabiyesi Yemoja ooooo! 💦💦💦🌕💦💦💦💦💦 Àṣẹ! Àṣẹ!! Àṣẹ!!! 🙏🏿💙🌊

SEX, MARRIAGE AND SPIRITUALITY: IS THIS HOW ÌṢẸ̀ṢÉ IS PRACTISED? As an Ìyánífá, I have heard reports of women being asked for sex in exchange for spiritual assistance, and practitioners (Babalawo, Babalorisa) presenting marriage as a condition for spiritual access.
