Great ride from @CoFarrell20 on King Of The Frontier @CheltenhamRaces. Looks a good prospect and a very cool steer.

That looked a good performance by Pensande A Te in the Rockfel after giving ground away at the start. Congratulations to @MarcoBotti and @SilvDSousa. Could be a good one.

Ayr is such a wide track and it’s difficult to tell which side is in front when a field splits. Commentator @FusseyAlex did a good job there on the Silver Cup. Very tough.

I love Maltese Cross. Doncaster or Paris? It’s got to be France surely?

What I would also say to @andyburnham is that I called the St Leger last year and it was the most febrile atmosphere at Doncaster that I experienced all year. There is a great passion for horse racing in the north and that was always the case during the Ch4 Racing years.

Our new PM @andyburnham does not realise that betting shops are already closing. He seems very negative about gambling yet for the vast majority of people it is one of life’s pleasures. A ban on gambling advertising on TV would be deadly to British horse racing (employs 80,000).

Our new PM wants to prevent betting shops from opening on High Streets. Does he not know that they are already closing! The government’s unbelievable ignorance of the threats to horse racing threatens one of the country’s world leading industries.

I remember the BBC Open Golf coverage years ago when not all the holes were covered. Viewers had to wait until the players came “in range of our cameras.”

I left a little brandy in my bedside glass last night. This morning there was a fly floating on the surface. What a way to go.

An extraordinary decision by @Wimbledon to put Arthur Fery on Court 18. @BBC1 is covering every game, every shot.

When it’s as close as that at Newmarket (2.05), why not call a dead heat?
