Great chatting through today’s @Ipsos_in_the_UK polling with @lewis_goodall on @LBC this morning. Upshot: the Burnham bounce is real as Labour consolidates the left vote whilst the right remains divided. But it’s the Tories - not Reform - now in 2nd. youtu.be/cQGPMT587vc?is=ic8Q…

I've been in France since 2002 and have never seen the streets so violent nor the politics so extreme. From the sacking of the supermarket on my street to the prospect of Présidente Le Pen, here's me @FT including thoughts from 2 French Nobel laureates as.ft.com/r/addcad57-0f9d-4e…

👀 Election fever has already spread beyond Westminster. Last week a Lib Dem councillor told HQ that he had tried to order some new Correx boards - the plastic placards used in election campaigns - only to be told the company could not fulfil the order for another month because it would be using all of November to complete a large order for the Labour Party. From today’s weekend long read with @whazell Story 👇 inews.co.uk/news/politics/in…

The collapse in violent crime over three decades has been one of the most striking developments of my lifetime. News is about what’s going wrong, and rightly so. But the bigger picture also matters From today’s figures:-

Andy Burnham's spokeswoman had this strongly-worded response to questions about Steve Witkoff calling Vladimir Putin a "humanitarian": No 10 said: "We certainly do not recognise that characterisation. "President Putin has killed thousands of people - both innocent Ukrainians and his own Russian people who he has sent to their deaths on the frontline. "He is starving children and the elderly of heat and warmth - and systematically targeting critical national infrastructure. "Ukraine's foreign minister summed it up well this morning when he said: 'This night, the residents of Kyiv heard what Russian humanitarianism really sounds like.'"

These numbers should concern Polanski and the Greens. We talk a lot about how Reform have gone backwards since winning the locals. But the Greens are in reverse too.
New from @Ipsos_in_the_UK Zack Polanski favourability ratings fall to worst ever as leader. - 52% are now unfavourable towards Polanski (+6 from Sept). - 16% favourable (-2).    This is the highest % unfavourable we have found for Polanski & the lowest % favourable.
