I grew up in Cape Town. Before 1994, I lived in a hostel in Mfuleni. After varsity, I got a job in Joburg and worked there for years until I returned. Upon my arrival, I lived in Parklands, then moved to Blouberg. After some time, I bought a property through gap financing in Blue Downs and rented it out while I was renting in Salt River.
I’m talking about my lived reality, not a politically biased Black grievance mentality. There are those Blacks who think they are cleverer than anyone else, who would pick up on the use of AI for grammatical flow and judge you as inferior because that is how they live: through self-conceited perfection, affirming their superior understanding of blackness while degrading other Blacks who don’t view the world through racial stereotype lenses.

This is the work the DA does in Cape Town.
Not the lies fed to you by the likes of the ANC/EFF/PA/ActionSA/GOOD and Rise Mzansi
They blatantly want to fool you into believing the DA does nothing for the poor.

TSHWANE ANNOUNCES OVERNIGHT WATER RESTRICTIONS AFFECTING SEVERAL AREAS IN PRETORIA AND CENTURION
The City of Tshwane has announced temporary overnight water restrictions affecting several reservoirs and surrounding communities as it battles continued pressure on its water supply network.
The restrictions came into effect at 17:00 on Saturday, 31 October, and will remain in place until 05:00 on Sunday, 1 November 2026.
The city says the intervention involves temporarily reducing or closing water supply to selected reservoirs to allow them to recover and help stabilise the broader distribution network.
According to the municipality, exceptionally high water consumption continues to place severe pressure on its storage and distribution systems.
Although the selected reservoirs currently have adequate water levels, demand in the areas they supply remains exceptionally high.
The overnight restrictions are intended to balance the network and improve supply to communities already experiencing water shortages.
🔴 SIX RESERVOIRS ARE AFFECTED:
Rooihuiskraal Reservoir
Bakenkop Reservoir
Brakfontein Reservoir
Heights HL Reservoir
Heights LL Reservoir
Louwlardia Reservoir
🔴 AREAS THAT COULD BE AFFECTED INCLUDE:
Rooihuiskraal and Rooihuiskraal Noord
Wierdapark
Eldoraigne
Hennopspark
The Reeds
Celtisdal
Kosmosdal
Olievenhoutbosch
Heuweloord
Monavoni
Clubview
Lyttelton
Zwartkop
Highveld
Midstream Estate
Louwlardia
Country View
Blue Hills
Pretoria
Groenkloof
Danville
Salvokop
Claremont
Other surrounding areas supplied by the affected reservoirs.
Residents in these areas may experience low water pressure or temporary interruptions to their water supply during the restriction period.
The City has warned that even after supply is reopened from 05:00 on Sunday, water will be restored gradually.
The time it takes for water to reach households will differ depending on their location and the condition of the network.
💧 RESIDENTS URGED TO SAVE WATER
The municipality is appealing to residents who still have water to use it sparingly and limit consumption to essential household needs.
Residents are urged to:
Avoid watering gardens.
Avoid washing vehicles.
Do not fill swimming pools.
Limit unnecessary household water consumption.
Use available water responsibly.
The City says reducing consumption, particularly in areas where supply remains available, will help preserve water and improve the recovery of the network for communities experiencing shortages.
The municipality has apologised for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience and cooperation while its teams work to stabilise the water supply.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, store reasonable amounts of water for essential use and avoid unnecessary consumption.
