GamerCard: a month of real-world testing, plenty of games, and some seriously encouraging words from @GamesRadar
“I’d take that over a conventionally ‘good’ portable any day.”
“The idea of playing the shooter on something that’s the same profile as my wallet is simply bananas.”
“The whole experience is undeniably delightful.”
And looking ahead:
“I can’t wait to see what ends up on the GamerCard and how it evolves over time…”
This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what developers, creators and players build with GamerCard.

Is this the strangest retro handheld yet? @JasonBradbury gets into it in this week's podcast.
The GamerCard is incredibly thin, plays retro-style games, and comes from Grant Sinclair — nephew of ZX Spectrum creator Sir Clive Sinclair. @T3dotcom's @RikHenderson has been living with one and says it actually gets better the more you use it, as the unusual controls begin to bed in.

The Raspberry Pi gaming handheld recalls the rubber-keyed ZX Spectrum, but it's more than a nostalgia trip. creativebloq.com/entertainme…

1/2 I don't think I'm giving anything away by saying that I feel this is the best implementation of a Raspberry Pi device in any gaming system I've come across or built/assembled myself.
"Grant Sinclair sent me a GamerCard... In my head, this is the next 'Sinclair' computer, but really, it's a lot more than that."

For those wanting to see what this actually does, I made a video on the prototype a year ago; it's been in development for a long time, but is now finally shipping: youtu.be/6tPCrbHunXs?si=M8ML…

A look at the GAMERCARD handheld by @SinclairMobile.
An incredibly thin Raspberry Pi handheld that’s finally shipping after years of development. It can play a range of games, including PICO-8, has silicone buttons, a 4” 720P display and a 1600MAH battery. 😮🕹️
Great to see GamerCard featured in @StuffTV best retro gifts for Christmas list !
"Super-slim and crammed with retro spirit, the GamerCard is a handheld that easily fits in your pocket. Resembling a souped-up modern Game Boy with a crisp colour display and built-in games, it’s a quirky (and far more affordable) alternative to the Windows-powered gaming handhelds of today."
