Just a random statement/observation: I’ve been studying thoroughbred pedigrees for more than 50 years, and, more recently, working Malinois pedigrees for two years. The similarities in approach to matings among the best in each sphere is stunning.
Here’s a specific thing: he loves to bite, and the biting is part of his expression for work and affection. Therefore, I let him bite/mouth me at will and do not suppress his genetic need to do that. In return, he appreciates and loves that, and that builds trust.

Yoshito Yahagi on Forever Young: "What's truly extraordinary is that a horse weighing over 570 kilograms (approx. 1,257 pounds) can consistently deliver performances like his without showing the slightest sign of problems with his legs. That's something beyond human comprehension. We've been able to follow his racing schedule exactly as planned throughout his career."

🏆 Pretty awesome that Garrett O'Rourke has spent years successfully guiding Juddmonte USA, and now has a Breeders' Cup champion himself as breeder of HUGHES (Into Mischief).
His and wife Rhonda's Breffni Farm bred Hughes from K P Dreamin (Union Rags). Congrats to the team there, including Alex Rocha!
