The abandoned coal tipple was used by the Berea Brick & Tile Company in Strongsville, Ohio. Coal cars would be spotted here and would dump the coal into the concrete basins where it could later be loaded onto trucks.
This is a well known location, but was more going on here?
Oh, I know it. I live way way too close haha. teapawt.org/sixbyfire/status/20927…
While out yesterday I visited the Smoky Memorial in the Rocky River Reservation in Cleveland. Smoky was widely regarded as the first therapy dog following her WWII service. People leave offerings here with her so every visit is unique. Also took a few other random photos too!
Did a quick photoshoot of my 1993 Mitsubishi Minica Toppo from Japan on Cleveland’s west side today. #JDM

Cool thrifting find yesterday! My Wife found this newspaper article folded and on the ground in front of Savers. We picked it up and kept it, must have been in a book or that and someone just tossed it. I knew it was old, it mentioned the old Cleveland Press newspaper, so I knew it was pre-1983 at least.
Turns out it was from March 1st, 1977 as I later found the articles in the newspaper archives. Crazy that this survived and was found almost 50 years after being published!
My Mom was the more musically inclined one of my parents, most of my love of listening to music I got from her, but my Dad absolutely loved this album!
Meat Loaf released Bat Out of Hell 49 years ago today, on October 21, 1977. Every song came from Jim Steinman, much of it out of Neverland, his rock-opera take on Peter Pan, and the two spent years getting turned down by label after label. Todd Rundgren produced it, played the guitars and all but paid for it himself, with Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg from the E Street Band, Ellen Foley on Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Phil Rizzuto calling the play-by-play. It only reached No. 14 in America, but it went on to sell tens of millions of copies and spent more than 500 weeks on the UK chart.
🎸 Favorite track on Bat Out of Hell: the title track, Paradise by the Dashboard Light, Two Out of Three Ain't Bad or You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth? 🎸 👇️

ALT Album cover of Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell, painted by Richard Corben: a long-haired, shirtless rider on a motorcycle bursts out of the ground of a graveyard in a blast of light, while a huge bat-winged creature perches on a tall tomb, all under a fiery red and orange sky. "Meat Loaf" is written in white at the top, with "BAT OUT OF HELL" and "SONGS BY JIM STEINMAN" below.
