Acuff is great at snaking screens and keeping a defender on his hip Is a deep drop the way to play screens when the guard is looking to score every time?
With 33 PTS in last night's action, Darius Acuff Jr. set the @SacramentoKings' single-game scoring record for a teenager! He's the first NBA rookie to drop 30+ in a game this season 🔥

Pretty filthy
‼️ CONCEPTS THAT KILL IN HS ‼️ This is an Iverson curl from a SLOB set. Few teams will scout your actions from the BLOB/SLOB especially if you use false spacing templates - in this case, a box.

Humming to calm yourself is clever - thinking free throws and start of game butterflies
Cool report on a mental performance trick that Caleb Williams utilizes in between plays

Want to be great at pretty much anything? Do the hard thing in the moment you don't want to the most. Then reward yourself for overcoming the struggle. You can be someone who does hard things.
Neuroplasticity works faster under high emotional intensity. If you can resist a craving when it is at its peak, you create a far stronger rewiring effect. This is why your hardest moments matter most. They are not setbacks; they are high-voltage opportunities for transformation.

These all are great this one is a great example of winning basketball. You will make mistakes but you choose whether or not to give up the next possession.

You turn the ball over, guess what, you are in perfect position to get a back tip... as long as you don't give up on the play

Shaan Puri had a banger talk about sources of energy (about 37 mins in) Boiling it down and rewording it a bit Discipline - doing something whether you feel like it or not Motivation - getting up for doing it, this isn't sustainable over long periods but can be useful Inspiration - free energy for something always use it Obsession - less healthy long term, effective at the cost of other important things *Negative sources of energy - anger, fear, slight (chip on your shoulder) All can be used for energy but have negative long term impacts if you use for too long. He likened to food. You can get your calories all from cake and soft drinks but you'll pay a price down the road. Lot of gems in this one youtu.be/XnQ2Da7HcRk?is=Qzgt…

Important guy for @IWUBasketball this season - Connor Williams. The 6-2 junior helped the Titans win several conf games last year after he was called up from the JV team. Great shooter; south sider. #d3hoops

This is my quibble with the analytics talk which if I have wrong please explain to me. This is a good shot because SGA gets an open look. He created an advantage with the ball screen. The help defenders chose to stay home. A kick out or a dump off or any other pass moves the ball to a more, well defended player. SGA is better than most at 1v1 scoring and midrange so this shot whether it goes in or not should be considered a good one given the constraints of the game that possession.
