Two of my favorite moments/quotes in a story full of crazy ones. “Here comes No. 5” is amazing lmfao
The hidden world inside NFL headsets is as complex and strategic as it is chaotic: a textured audio landscape of intense competition, stress, dramatically shifting emotions, unwritten rules and even absurdity.

This is what a leader sounds like.
#Titans HC Robert Saleh says Jordan Elliott having a gun was, in a way, a “small sign of a cry for help,” considering he had no prior issues and is a father and a hard worker.
Saleh referenced two suicides in the NFL over the past year and expressed concern about players struggling without getting the help they need.
“These kids go through a lot. I will stand on the table for Jordan’s character. My message to 31 other teams: If you need a hell of a run-stopping DT that can help for a playoff run, give me a call. I'll tell you everything you need to know about him. He’s a good man. Had a terrible lapse in judgment.”

Sources: Texas is expected to give an up-tick in first-team quarterback reps to redshirt freshman KJ Lacey Jr. this week in practice. Arch Manning still projects as the Texas starter. The uptick in Lacey’s reps is a signal that Texas could replace Manning if he continues to struggle.

Brian Schottenheimer said he considered taking a timeout after Dak Prescott took a big hit one play before his first interception.
“He’s a warrior. He got the wind knocked out of him, and he’s tough as nails, man, and an elite competitor …I said, ‘Are you OK?’ And he kind of gave me the head nod. I don’t think that (hit) had anything to do with (the turnover).”
Prescott said after the game he would not need X rays, that it’s just a bruise.
“Continue to evolve” with the one side of the ball that had continuity this season.
That’s strange logic to me 🤷🏼♀️
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on @1053thefan said they “absolutely” believe in Brian Schottenheimer.
“There’s not any question in Jerry and my mind. He has the team. There’s no question they want to go out there and execute and make things happen. Feel really good about our coaching staff. We just got to have it continue to evolve and get to a point to where we can win these football games.”

Why has the #DallasCowboys star-studded offense gone silent under Brian Schottenheimer in 2026? Here is a look at the schematic changes from 2025 to 2026 that have Dallas’ attack scuffling the last two weeks. My latest for CBS Sports:

The Cowboys interviewed Jonathan Gannon twice for their DC position. He was in contention until they chose Christian Parker. He landed in Green Bay. His Packers defense held the Cowboys offense to 13 points — their lowest point total in the Brian Schottenheimer Era.
Hahahahaha self deprecation, ability to laugh, stands ground. 10/10 no notes @FitzMagic_14

On David Bailey wearing a polo under his jersey:
Apparently Harrison Phillips started this with the DL on Fridays (they all wear polos under their jersey on Fridays now) to represent that it’s a “work day”.
The windows are open. It’s 63 degrees out.
The boyfriend prepared me eggs and avocado and pancakes are on the way.
My dog is sitting next to me. GameDay is on.
Texas has an 11am kick. Gonna walk to the bars after and meet the girls for a day of football watching here off Knox Henderson and hopefully not get hurt again by my Longhorns.
This is life maxxing. Not even kidding when I say- this is a perfect day-10/10 no notes.
Everything about this 👏but also the collar and jersey combo is fire

New senior defensive assistant Mike Pettine spoke today for the first time since joining the team. He said when Christian Parker called, he felt a need to help a friend.
Pettine has 24 years of NFL experience, including time as a head coach and three stops as a defensive coordinator. Parker is in his first year as a coordiantor.
“I have about a four-inch thick book of what not to do and a very thin one of what to do, so I think that's key is being able to learn from others' mistakes,” Pettine said. “As much as you think you're prepared for it, you're really not until you get into it. I think that's where I'll be able to help him.”

On @newheightshow, @JasonKelce asked Mike Tomlin what he thinks when a team has a players only meeting.
“I think you’re dead.”
I found 116 confirmed cases over the last 25 years in which NFL teams held publicly reported players only meetings during the regular season.
Entering the meeting: 367-408-3 (47.4%)
Rest of the season: 543-569-2 (48.8%)
The win-loss record barely changed.
But what about performance compared to expectations?
Before the meeting: 324-435-19 against the spread (42.7%)
Rest of season: 561-526-27 against the spread (51.6%)
The biggest jump comes in the first game immediately afterward. Teams have gone 73-43-2 against the spread in that game (62.9%).
Everybody gets on the same page. For about a week.
I can barely remember a phone number. I’m always impressed w all the responsibilities the QB has and also shows you how much goes into just calling a play
Ever wondered what goes into making a play-call in 40 seconds?
@FitzMagic_14 breaks it down 🧠
