I tracked down this source and, as usual, COG is being a bullshit artist. The article in question is from September of 2025, well before Takaichi was elected, and states outright that this is an internal goal of the Bangladeshi government. The actual agreement goes all the way back to May of 2025, under Ishiba's administration (see second screencap), with Takaichi merely respecting the prior established plan. It entails, as other commenters have already pointed out, 100,000 foreign workers over the entire five year period, NOT annually. One could certainly still level criticism at Takaichi for this, but the fact is that COG is once again lying straight to your face and banking on you not doing even minimal research. He is a man from the UK who constantly lies about his identity while using Japan as a means to profit from engagement. Stop treating him as a reliable source for news.
