Rayls says its public chain has "deterministic sub second finality" and 15,000+ TPS. I checked the chains blocks and its own docs.
Short answer: deterministic finality is real as a design. Sub second is not what todays blocks or @RaylsLabs own benchmarks show.
Evidence below, labeled by how solid it is.
Takeaway: deterministic finality is real as a design. "sub second" was a setting that ran for about 26 days, not todays pace (1.35s). Rayls docs and benchmarks disagree with each other.
Still unconfirmed: why the pace changed at epochs 134 and 159–160, and what finality is on mainnet.
Check it yourself: any block page on explorer.rayls.com (timestamp and nonce).

Question for rayls team:
@AlexJupiter23 @x10xalex @myaksetig @mcvviriato
At the start of epoch 134 (Sep 10, 15:58 UTC), mainnet round time fell from about 0.65s to 0.35s, and it rose again across epochs 159–160 (Oct 5–6).
So what actually changed and is the current 1.35s block time the intended setting for "sub second finality"?
One oddity: the explorer lists 1 reorged block in 13.4M, #830073, at the end of epoch 13. It has the same parent, timestamp and miner as the current block, but a different hash.
The page says it's being resynced.
Cause: unconfirmed.
Also: 7 distinct block producers show up, while the dashboard lists 8 validators.

rightnow many new peoples are joining on @arc but they don't know what and how to build
if you are genuinely interested in building on arc, Arc 101 bootcamp by @encodeclub is worth checking out
its a 6 week beginner friendly bootcamp focused on learning the fundamentals of arc and getting comfortable with its stablecoin native infrastructure
a really good way to go from understanding arc to actually building with it

Is @RaylsLabs BRL1.p really backed 1:1? I checked both chains.
Onchain: yes. 250,013.48 BRL1 sits in a polygon vault against 250,013.48 BRL1.p on rayls.
Behind it: reserves claimed at 111% in a report that says it isn't independently audited and one wallet controls the bridge settings.
What changes in practice: BRL1.p to BRL1 is redeemable on the bridge page in about 2 minutes, with the fee paid in USDr (per the rayls team).
BRL1 to reais then goes through the consortium: partners burn BRL1 for a fiat deposit and retail users go through exchanges.
Fees and times for that step aren't published (as per the team).
Still unconfirmed:
1. any independent audit of BRL1's reserves
2. today's reserve ratio
3. who holds the bridge wallet
4. what the pilot vault will hold
5. fees and times for BRL1 to reais
6. who the burner and minter wallets are

Takeaway: BRL1.p is backed 1:1 by BRL1 in a vault anyone can check.
Whether BRL1 is backed by reais rests on an unaudited internal report, and the bridge and pilot answer to one wallet.
Rayls docs describe a tokenised deposit as issued by an institution inside its own ledger. Here the claim runs through four layers.
