It’s more then that. Have children (or live with) with a woman you aren’t married to, she claims zero income. You have housing, medical, SNAP, so 100% of your income can go toward vehicles and lavish parties every other weekend

This is brilliantly said. I repeat for emphasis: "... there’s an almost autistic fixation on fairness when it comes to getting to do extracurricular activities [...] couples seem to find parity by doing absolutely nothing..." It's completely true. I remember my Russian friend in the military was always talking about this, about how in Russia, American men are viewed as being hopelessly effeminate and pistol-whipped by their wives, and that for him, it was the only negative stereotype he heard about Americans as a kid that seemed to be 100% true... Yet when I say to my married friends, "let's go out for a beer," it's as if I've asked them to broker a nuclear arms deal... I am sorry to ask but what sort of men are these? For society to function, men must have a sufficient amount of liberty to spend extended periods of unscripted, non-work-related time amongst other men, and this element of a manly life is so important it should functionally preclude men from all domestic motherly roles... The Mexicans, the Italians, the Irish, they understand these things. Very rich and very poor men appear to as well. But for some reason most middle-class white American men are caught in this weird, "carceral domesticity" at the behest of their niggling wives. I am not trying to sound "red pilled" here, and have never cared for that scene at all -- but frankly I find this whole thing to be bizarre, repulsive, and completely at odds with a civilized conception of both family and society.
I’m in a very small minority of dads that get let out of the house after work and it’s to go play table tennis. I was talking about it with another dad and we both concluded that both of our wives seem to crash out when they’re home alone with the kids for extended periods of time in a way that we just don’t. Like we have no issues putting on Bluey, airfrying the nice Costco chicken nuggets, passing out some crayons and cracking a beer. My wife plays volleyball in a women’s league once a week and nobody notices or cares when she’s gone. When I go play table tennis once a week I literally have my kids begging me not to go and my wife quietly hoping I’ll just skip it. It’s not that there’s some conspiracy against men or anything, it’s just what seems to be happening in families these days. For instance, I have met a lot of dads that were into Warhammer growing up, and there’s interest in starting to play together, but I just don’t see too many guys with the ability to, build, paint, and play an army. I guess what I’m getting at is that there’s an almost autistic fixation on fairness when it comes to getting to do extracurricular activities and a lot of couples seem to find parity by doing absolutely nothing, that way there’s no argument about who’s getting out of the house more. This leads us to our current situation where married ppl just socialize a lot less than they used to.

Covid made everyone the boss of the own little world and you are only invited i to it. They want no part of yours.
I know this will be unpopular but why is every celebration a whole ass trip now? That’s an ask for anyone, kids or not. Every wedding is on some remote mountain and now…bday parties too? Nah.

It’s funny how this keeps being framed as if he’s just some regular schmuck with limited options who hit the jackpot.
Bro, I'm not even hating, but when a woman who looks like HER chooses a guy like HIM, I genuinely start questioning what women actually find attractive. 😭💀

Wedding industrial complex. You want a venue? Sure. Oh with tables? Upcharge. Tablecloths? Upcharge. Serve alcohol? Upcharge. DJ? Seperate but also upcharge. Photographer? Flowers? Cake? Gifts? Makeup? Hair? Outfits? Also, we accept tips.

75% of weddings I’ve been to in the last 10 years were just over the top expressions of vanity and couples/their families living out some big shot fantasy. They’ve only authentic feeling weddings were smaller more intimate weddings without all the circus nonsense
25% of weddings I've attended in the past decade are primarily about: 1. the bride/groom status flexing on the attendees 2. the bide/groom's families passive aggressively litigating some decades-long family conflict to the point that the event is anti-hospitable to the guests

A lot of married couples with kids just don't want to admit that they don't want to put in effort with their other relationships anymore so they justify it by villainizing childfree, single people. I know married couples who have a strong village bc they still put effort!
The Discourse ™️ today is depressing. Not only do people refuse to interact with anyone beyond spouses and children, but they are openly hostile towards people who try to plan things!

I definitely agree with that, but there also is another element where many millennials can’t seem to balance family life and individual interests for stuff that’s maybe 1-2 a week. For example, a few guys I play hockey with feel guilty not being home for 3hr 1 night a week.
When I was growing up there were girls in my school who were friends because their moms were friends who has grown up together. There was one foursome whose moms were also a foursome. As a weird little shy immigrant, I found this almost awe inspiring. What happened is that people no longer have kids at a sustainable rate and the population is replaced by immigrants at a much faster rate, so society no longer has the cohesion and harmony to sustain the normal friendship lifecycle where you go through the stages of life and raise families together.

It doesn’t even have to be based on vacations. The reason it comes across like a modern prison is because people deprive themselves of the smaller scale social. Yes, a weekend trip with a toddler at home is not logistically easy, but doing something social for a few hr isn’t.
This is why modern parenting is like prison. This mindset just straight up didn’t exist 30 years ago. My parents left the COUNTRY for multiple weeks and left me and my brother with my grandma and we did not die or even care lmaoo

I’ve been saying it for a while, growing up my parents and all other adults I knew had very active social lives. We never once felt neglected because every few weeks they had their own plans. There is something off nowadays

There is a season for weekend getaways with your friends but it's not when you have young children

I’ve reached my limit with salesmen. Even if it’s a good product or service that would have value to my business, I’ll immediately get turned off once they start pushing. Just send me the reading material and I’ll get back to you if I have any questions.

My own personal sales philosophy is I never want people to feel like they made the decision under pressure where they’ll resent/regret hiring my company. The money is not worth someone feeling like they were forced into something. People respond much better to chill sales imo.

I’m not saying you should never check in once or twice on leads, just that you should let them make the decision on their own. I feel like the universe rewards this sales tactic more in the big picture.
