Really great meeting of the Care Experienced Expert Panel in the Department today! Great to meet with @RobbieGilligan and the 10 years on from care study team to hear interviewing has begun. Imp to input on interview approach and further brainstorm how to reach care leavers!

Tusla foster carers have positively transformed the lives of vulnerable children and young people but more people are needed to provide foster placements. If you are visiting @BordBiaBloom and have an interest in fostering stop by our Together We Grow garden to speak to our team

🥹 all I ever wanted to do with @epicireland was to try and make things easier for the care leavers who came after me, seeing actual change in realtime makes it all the moreworth while! 🤯👏
Tune in @ 11:50 for @SimonHarrisTD's announcement of a 1.15m fund that includes accommodation supports for care-leavers, + about his "incredible meeting" with EPIC -🙌🏾@rorybrown23 + @SocialWorkClara who were central to this meeting!

So glad to have had @epicireland as a platform to share my personal experience to drive changes to the care system in Ireland ✨
Replying to @Marissa_C_Ryan
Shout-out to our incredible Youth Council members, past+present, @rorybrown23 @SocialWorkClara @KaiRBrosnan who have been leading this work with the @DeptofFHed, and to @SimonHarrisTD who has been steadfast in his commitment to prioritising care-leavers in his mandate ❤️💜🧡💙

Lovely to hear @SimonHarrisTD acknowledge the work of @epicireland with @DeptofFHed to prioritise care-leavers access to further education and training. Our past+present Youth Council members @rorybrown23 @SocialWorkClara + @KaiRBrosnan have been instrumental in this over 2 years
Spoke @tusla launch for #socialwork awareness week today before heading into @SWSP_TCD's advisory committee meeting. I couldn't attend the #childsummit with @dcediy but amazing to see so much work being done to promote positive outcomes for children and young people in one day!

Today we launch Social Work Awareness Week celebrating social work and its important role in our communities. All week long industry leaders and front-line staff members will share their experiences and the positive differences that social workers can make in a child’s life.
So glad to have worked with you over the past five years @alan62812777 🤝 Here's to passing the torch to the younger council members at @epicireland
💜❤️🧡💙
Today, we marked @alan62812777's graduation from the Youth Council. Since 2018, Alan worked w/ EPIC to create a better future for children in care + care leavers. Thank you for all you contributed Al, to EPIC + beyond! You're one of the best #CareAware champs Ireland has 💜❤️🧡💙

Quite shocking information to read as a care leavers. To see that 3 in 10 care leavers don't even finish their education in Ireland shows the failings of @Education_Ire and how the system needs to change to stop care leavers falling through the cracks.
