Do the right thing when no one is watching. Some wisdom for young athletes and individuals trying to build their careers and brand. Integrity and character is built when you do the right thing repeatedly regardless of who is watching!!🏆

PARENTS: One day, our kids will be finished playing sports and they will be adults raising their own kids. The best thing that we can do now is to teach them how to be good, happy people so they can, in turn, one day raise good, happy people.

This is very true. Parents' roles as leaders and supporters of coaches during the season and at the end are critical.
These parents are key "gatekeepers" of a program and a culture.
As a coach, forming relationships with these parents early on is important.

Dear Parents,
Switching your child to a winning team does not raise your status as a parent.

Just because you're a SR doesn't make you a good leader. Just because you're a Captain doesn't mean you're a good leader. Just because you're a starter doesn't mean you're a good leader. Good leaders make people better. 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙙𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙮.

It’s important to understand that coaches are absolutely looking to put talented athletes on roster.
However, we also have to make sure you fit our character.
We are fitting 1 to 20 not 20 to 1.
Talent will get you the looks but Character will solidify you into a program.

A big problem in youth baseball is too many parents think that because they are paying monthly dues and tournament fees that their kids are owed playing time and get to play positions they want to play.

“Parental bad behavior at games, at practices, online, during the car rides home - basically everywhere - is plaguing youth sports and it needs to stop! Parents, if you can't be a cheerleader, stay home!” reformedsportsproject.com/bl…

The GREATEST sports parents are those who let the coaches coach, the officials officiate, are their children’s biggest support system, and spend more time and energy focusing on their child’s character, work ethic, and education, than anything else.

If you’re more concerned with how your kid performs in his game or tournament versus how he acts as a teammate or with coaches & officials you should reconsider your priorities.

So many people have opinions but ponder this, who should take control of their future?
