At tonight’s meeting, City Council unanimously approved renaming the portion of Anita Boulevard adjacent to the YNCU Curling Centre to Team Jacobs Way, in recognition of two-time Olympic champions Team Jacobs. A very well deserved tribute!

.@CitySSM appreciated meeting with Hanwha Ocean today. Hanwha has signed an MOU with Algoma Steel for a new beam mill should they secure a submarine contract. We discussed potential opportunities to support operations in our community, including the Port of Sault Ste. Marie.

Really disappointing news. Like a lot of Saultites, I was looking forward to seeing this concert tonight. I've connected with the team at the @gflgardens to let them know @CitySSM is still keen to have Goo Goo Dolls and Dashboard Confessional perform in the Sault in the future.

It was great to tour the port site with @stevenmackinnon. We had a productive meeting about the benefits of developing a port locally with @HOPAports that would anchor a Northern Ontario/Southern Ontario trade corridor - look forward to working with the fed/prov to make it happen

The first batch of steel for the Polar Max project was rolled today at @AlgomaSteelInc! Steel produced in @CitySSM by local steelworkers will be transformed into a new polar icebreaker built by @chantierdavie.

Congrats to @NorthernBrewing on the 10th anniversary of their first pint, reviving a 100+ year old #sault brand for us to enjoy. Celebrated in true Canadian fashion this evening at the Tap Room!
