All across America, voters are going to the polls, Democrats and Independents as well as a significant percentage of Republicans and saying with resolve: "We have had enough of this incompetence, Corruption, betrayal of American values, and cruelty, and we are going to stop it."

🧵 “Novatek said on Friday that in fact, it was moving to acquire ‘minority shareholder’ status in the Polar LNG project — a striking effort by the Russian energy giant to seek ownership of American gas production.”
Trump-Putin scandal in Alaska.
"Joel Riddle, chief executive of Polar LNG until he resigned in September, said he had been misled...The true source of at least some of Polar LNG’s money was Novatek, a Russian energy giant under partial U.S. sanctions."

Carla, there will be weak kneed D's, the technocrats who do not understand that People like Must will not stop until they are stopped by D's exercising power in a robust way, not in a Garlandesque timid, impotent, cowardly manner.

Here's the NYT story about how Trump is inviting Russia into AK to drill for oil. Literally selling out Alaska to Russia.

This is like the epigraph for the entire Trump 2.0 presidency:
‘’I don’t give a damn. We’re making a fortune’
This needs to be an ad run massively with the addition of the assertion that Republicans in Congress and Senate won't stand up to Trump, as soon as the election is over if you send them back they will go along, get along, afraid to make Trump mad.

The @GOP must be thrilled that 11 days before elections, we learn that the Trump family secretly orchestrated a deal to allow Russians to drill Alaska in exchange for a $25 billion "investment" funneled through their proxies.
This is the connection that should be being made by our candidates.......
Important from @crampell.
"That Trump would now choose to try to discredit a child sex-crime victim is unsurprising. He was a close friend of Epstein...He has no qualms about throwing abuse survivors under the bus if doing so helps him politically."

A wild story: the CEO of a US energy company whose plans were discussed during the Witkoff-Kushner-Putin negotiations resigns. Why? He learned that his company's main investor is a sanctioned Russian company, not the UAE

Tough two graphs for GOP with just a week before midterms. @UMich Consumer Sentiment Index is down 10% from a year ago.
The index shows that the share of Republicans citing high prices as a drag on their finances has surged roughly 50 percentage points since January.
It didn't have to be this way. Self-inflicted wounds by President Trump. He doesn't impose tariffs or start the Iran War and the economy would be on fire right now.
Just a thought this morning: We all saw how far Trump would go to retain power and over turn an election in 2020. Now we face the growing prospect that his actions are aimed at creating a fictitious rationale for him to contest the election results and try to pressure R's in
House and Senate to not seat the duly elected new members. It is a crisis coming, and we have no reason to think Trump won't go there, he has done it before, and now he has more power. All that would be needed to stop this is enough R Senators to stand up now, not later. Go
The press is trying, but still doing a horrible job in policing Trump's smears of Amy Acton. Reporters on scene cannot handle Trump, it is up to anchors to interrupt the monologue of smears and correct the record and call Trump out as an awful man with no character. JMO
On Mississippi, right now what is needed is Get out the vote money, door knockers and phone callers, increasing African American turnout so that it creeps up as a % of total vote is what is most critical thing we can do now.

Self inflicted wounds, as we used to say in the Public Defenders office when a client complained about being brought to justice, "you pay your nickels, and you take your chances".
